Jib 0 #3 October 15, 2003 It's looking like the MARLINS' game! or was it fan interference? 8-3 with 8 runs in the top of the 8th now the bottom of the 9th -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt
ChasingBlueSky 0 #4 October 15, 2003 Just like 84 - an error in crunch time. And whats better? The yuppies (re: non baseball fans) helped screw it up!!! Maybe the fans will finally kick the yuppies out like we did at Comiskey!_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... beowulf 1 #8 October 15, 2003 Apparently they did escort him out with lots of security. They needed it. I am certain there are some very pissed off people there with a lot less restraint then I would have if I were there.

Pudge played for the Red and White Sox and broke Bench's record. It's Ivan, not Pudge._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... chaoskitty 0 #12 October 15, 2003 Sorry.. I could have sworn that I grew up in Arlington, Texas and have been to TEN THOUSAND Ranger games where Pudge (yes his name is really Ivan) played catcher. Its like Emmit Smith no longer playing for the Cowboys.. sort of.

ChasingBlueSky 0 #15 October 15, 2003 haha - just showed the fan in full cubs gear that interfered in the play tonight.... they had to escort him out into security...then they showed a ton of fans that said they felt sorry for him.... just double checked the rules - once it crossed the plane of the stands, the ball is fair game for a fan to touch it. it is not interference unless the fan reaches past the plane of the stands. Guess Alex shouldn't had that error on the next pitch...._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... indyz 1 #16 October 15, 2003 Quotehaha - just showed the fan in full cubs gear that interfered in the play tonight.... they had to escort him out into security...then they showed a ton of fans that said they felt sorry for him.... I feel sorry for the fan. 95% of the people in that stadium would have done the same thing and the ball had crossed the plane of the wall so technically he didn't do anything wrong. He's lucky a bunch of drunk yuppies didn't beat the shit out of him before security got there. I'm mostly pissed at Dusty Baker for leaving Prior in that long. Prior's good and all, but 7 1/3 innings is way too long for almost any pitcher in such an important game.
champu 1 #17 October 15, 2003 I don't really care how badly you want a ball, and how special you think you are for having seats that close to the field. if you see a player on your team coming after the ball, he gets first dibs

skymama 37 #21 October 15, 2003 Ew, baseball! I'm so glad my son took up soccer because I would have had to slit my throat if I had to sit through baseball games all these years. It takes forever for anything to happen on the field! I hope your team wins though! Lets hijak this thread and talk about how fine the male soccer players legs and asses are. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

wildblue 7 #23 October 15, 2003 champu - I'm sure he didn't see him coming, he was on his side of the rail, I don't think he expected someone to be making a play on it. From si.com Quote"The ball was in the stands, the umpire saw that," McKeon said. "I didn't think there was any interference. I don't think that was the turning point in the game." Chicago fire fighter Pat Looney was seated next to the fan, whose identity was not released, and said there was no misconduct. "It looked like it was out of play. Don't blame him," Looney said. "I should've pushed him out of the way. If I saw Alou coming, I would have. "He wasn't leaning over. He was behind the rail, he didn't know Alou was coming," he said. "It looks like I touched the ball, but I didn't. I got 50 hate calls already. The firehouse where I work is being bombarded." Sigh.... it's a game people.... QuoteI'm mostly pissed at Dusty Baker for leaving Prior in that long. Prior's good and all, but 7 1/3 innings is way too long for almost any pitcher in such an important game.
