QTPi 0 #1 October 15, 2003 I injured myself 38 days ago (not that I'm counting) and I finally have surgery tomorrow. I've been so excited about it because the sooner the surgery, the sooner I can get back in the air! But now I'm getting a little nervous! I totally didn't expect that! I know everything will be fine but I've never been injured in my life so this is a ______ for me. I couldn't say it. I refuse to buy beer wheen I can't even jump!! So...surgery first thing in the morning! Y'all wish me luck! -- A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions. -Oliver Wendel Holmes

jmpnkramer 0 #3 October 15, 2003 You will be fine I am sure. I know what it is like to be injured. I have done some serious abuse to my body in the last few years. Not all of it from Skydiving. I have had 8HRS of Maxiofacial Surgery from a truck wreck. I also had to go through three surgeries for my leg. I am still here and kicking. Therefore I know you will be fine. It's a cool place. My favorite thing to do was to call the admitting office and admit things. Maybe you could get some scrubs and a baseball bat and wander the halls saying that the regular anesthesiologist is on vacation. One way or another, be conversational with the surgeons and staff beforehand. Have a laugh! They enjoy a patient who is funny and relaxed, for it relaxes them, too. Let us know how it goes.
