lawrocket 3 #2 October 14, 2003 Outstanding! It's great news, and hopefully the Feds will continue to let the states decide their own police powers... My wife is hotter than your wife.
frig 0 #3 October 14, 2003 That is good news. What drives me crazy about this issue is that people get so worked up about marijuana when there are other LEGAL drugs that are far more dangerous and addictive. Rush Limbaugh's recent publicity has shed some light on this. Some of the more serious pain killers are classified as opiates - known to have some of the most powerful addictive characteristics of any drug. They also have potential for serious side effects and there is even a risk of death if you overdose. Sounds like pretty bad stuff, but it is also a miracle drug for those with intense short term pain and others with painful terminal diseases (which is the reason they are legal). So if a group of doctors is stating that there are medical benefits to marijuana, what is the big fricken deal!??

PhillyKev 0 #5 October 14, 2003 QuoteTequila is legal and pot isn't. Can't figure that one out. It's actually pretty simple. In the early 20th century, most pot use was among blacks and the gov't in the south decided that it was an easy way to get black people out of their communities by criminalizing it and locking them up. Then they had to justify it by making ridiculous claims about the danger and effects of it (see Reefer Madness), and have sufficiently brain washed the majority of the public into believing it. Eventually it will be decriminalized, at least on a federal level.
