Gawain 0 #1 October 11, 2003 Yes, indeed, I did! It felt good. Too bad too, it held such promise. In the end however, there was too much accountability being demanded in the face of excuses and innuendo. For those that really cared and have really been paying attention I was going through some interesting career issues 5-6 months ago. This most recent venture held great potential, and yes, I drank some of the Cool-Aid. In the end, and after this week, I had to go. Fortunately, being of "above average" intelligence has its advantages. An outfit I started talking to in May of this year has maintained contact (they do move very slowly) and put their offer in writing this morning. I start on the 20th. The best part of this...it get's me out of telecom completely!! Woohoo!! I'll be working mainly in LA, but will be operating the WA, OR, CA and HI markets (possibly ID and AZ later). There should be enough travel generated for me to visit a few DZs next year. *phew!* On the 20th, I start training immediately (2 wks) in Reston, VA and will be flying into Dulles on the 19th. Are any of the VA DZs remotely close to Reston? All my initial inquiries so far indicate at least 150 miles to the closest one. Anyway....a week off...some time to sleep in...time...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! juanesky 0 #2 October 11, 2003 Well done pal. Glad to hear it is working out for you."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
Aviatrr 0 #3 October 11, 2003 Reston should be less than 100 miles from Skydive Orange(www.skydiveorange.com). It's been many years since I've been there, but there are several on here that are regulars there that can fill you in on the details. Mike

I did a little zip code mapping and it said 130 miles...so I'm a little closer...if all else fails, I have other relatives in the area, I'm sure some RW will be involved one way or the other...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Gawain 0 #7 October 11, 2003 QuoteIt's really too bad you're going to have to work in Hawaii though. Yeah, my new employer thinks so too. There's an "unofficial" policy to curb the frequency of visits there. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! If only for my own good and for your pleasure. 1.) What is your I.Q.? 2.) How the hell did you do it? I dream of that day. That is all. I wish you the absolute best. PS. Do you belong to MENSA? Or is that too upscale for you?

QuickDraw 0 #12 October 11, 2003 I have been having my own issues with work, and understand the need to up-roots, its never as easy as you would like it to be, but once you've realized that your gone, its plain sailing. Good luck in your new adventures and travels mate. Sounds like a good time to throw a party. -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning

No. < and > don't work, but the concept of HTML does, use [ and ] and see the "Get Markup Help" link when you post. Quote1.) What is your I.Q.? 2.) How the hell did you do it? I dream of that day. That is all. I wish you the absolute best. PS. Do you belong to MENSA? Or is that too upscale for you? 1.) I have no official score, but all the online stuff puts me between 127 and 140. Either way, that wasn't what I meant about "above average" intelligence, I was simply being a wise-*ss and noting that I did have another job lined up when I outright quit on Friday. 2.) Lots and lots of resumes, interviews and figuring out the issues of the other business sectors. I first focused on everything not-technology related. It's tough. The job market is hotly competitive, the best advice there is to be persistent. Prior to this job, and the job I just quit, 12 years of Verizon/GTE.. My time was up. P.S. MENSA...ha! Dude...I'm so not MENSA material.. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
