Honeyskies 0 #1 October 2, 2003 Ok anyone suggest any really cool ideas for a birthday present for a guy into extreme sports - he got all the skydiving stuff he needs - but is into climbing and snowboarding and i know nothing about these things! Doesn't have to be connected to either though. Just need some good ideas!
AggieDave 6 #2 October 2, 2003 Yeah, get him life insurance. Ok, seriously though. Get him something he can really use, something like a sweet MP3 player (he can take that up in the plane, out snowboarding, climbing, etc), or get him something cool like a portable DVD player (the little ones with built in screens). That's something he can use on his trips to places to go do the things he loves.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Stacy 0 #10 October 2, 2003 there are probably things that regardless of having all his skydiving gear, he will still need. Gift certificates for repacks, dytter batteries/cypres batteries, face lenses if he has an full face helmet.. all those things add up. perhaps stuff for travel like a nice gear bag, helmet bag... if yo camp at the DZ a lot my BF got a portable grill so we can grill our dinners there... __
Honeyskies 0 #11 October 2, 2003 Thanks :) Well, he has a new rig so not that - kinda out of my $50 budget anyway - (we haven't been going together that long you see). Not too keen on the 3way idea! But thanks for thinking outside the box! He gets free jumps so no jump tickets. The man who has it all! Technology stuff is good but I am a total technophobe so more advice here the better! {should probably add he doesn't have much need for skydiving stuff - has a lot of jumps and tunneltime already}
AggieDave 6 #12 October 2, 2003 Hmmmm...$50? http://www.single-helix.com--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Honeyskies 0 #13 October 2, 2003 Well $50 is a bit limiting but you know what men are like, if I spend too mcuh he will probably freak out and think i want to marry him or something, bloody men, so weird!
skreamer 1 #14 October 2, 2003 He might have lots of tunneltime but has he ever done a tunnel camp? Seriously, don't just buy him tunnel time, buy him a weekend at a tunnel camp. I'm sure his skydiving would be much better for it - I bet those XL guys could teach him a thing or two! Will
Honeyskies 0 #15 October 2, 2003 What's that and XL is?- sounds good i am not sure it would be very useful for him though, he has been in thew tunnel before, but thanks for your input :)
skreamer 1 #16 October 2, 2003 Sally, don't mean to pry here, but is your boyfriend your AFF instructor? Might I ask who he is?
cbain 0 #17 October 2, 2003 If he knows how to ride, maybe you could rent him a bike for the day, a Harley or something, assuming he doesn't already have one. And then you get to ride on back and be all snuggly and stuff too. He lives in a trailer on the dz or something, maybe a hotel room ro share for the night would be nice, something with a jacuzzi. If he's into music, maybe some tickets to a concert, or even a sporting event? Good luck Christina
Honeyskies 0 #18 October 2, 2003 why do you think you migt know me I doubt it I live in America, yes he is an AFF instructor, do you think its bad that i am dating him then! Anyway whatever, still need some ideas for this present pleeease!!!! Thanks

rehmwa 2 #23 October 2, 2003 Climbing is a great place for gifts. I just started in March and my wife is set for birthday's and Christmas' for the next 3 years. There is lots of stuff like devices and quick draws and ropes, etc. Some a little bit, most (sorry) more than $50. Also clothes to have. Camping stuff for trips. I'd bet a trip to REI and you could find stuff. good luck ...
