jfields 0 #28 October 2, 2003 A good news organization can report the news, with proper attribution and still be wrong. Sources lie, and are sometimes wrong. Pick a major world event and you can find a "reliable" news report that made a goof covering it. The AP doesn't necessarily say that WMD were taken out of Iraq. They say that a source SAID WMD were taken out of Iraq. Like Kevin said, the media has been wrong on that one before. Let's just wait for some more verification on it before we start the parades. AndyMan 7 #29 October 2, 2003 QuoteThe Tag Line that says "Associated Press" means nothing then? As AP is an org/pool... Yup, and they too have jumped the WMD in Iraq bandwagon before. Like I said, I'll wait and see making any statements I'd regret. Edit: I think the fact that its being carried only by Indian newspapers is telling. Plus, the AP report is quoting an "pro-goverment" Kuwaiti newspaper, this in a country not exactly known for having press freedoms. Yeah, I'll be waiting a bit on this one... _Am _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

We found biological laboratories. You remember when Colin Powell stood up in front of the world, and he said, Iraq has got laboratories, mobile labs to build biological weapons. They're illegal. They're against the United Nations resolutions, and we've so far discovered two. George W. Bush Interview with TVP Poland May 29, 2003 An official British investigation into two trailers found in northern Iraq has concluded they are not mobile germ warfare labs . . . a British scientist and biological weapons expert, who has examined the trailers in Iraq, told The Observer last week: "They are not mobile germ warfare laboratories. You could not use them for making biological weapons. They do not even look like them. They are exactly what the Iraqis said they were -- facilities for the production of hydrogen gas to fill balloons." The Observer June 15, 2003
