Gawain 0 #1 October 2, 2003 My car is back and I am happy. The clutch failure was not due to traditional wear, but there was a clear break and that's why it failed so quickly. I attached a few pics I took when I picked up my car this afternoon. You can see the clutch plate has very even wear, with little sign of abnormal riding/slipping etc. The culprit...a small piece, about two inches long and 1/8 in. wide...it tried taking a piece out of the clutch plate (what kind of fiber is that?) and chewed a little inside the housing. Anyway, I'm back in business, it's running great and in typical Honda fashion, the tranny is a pure dream to row...*snick*!! Just in time too! The dealer ran out of loaners so they called Enterprise down the road...Chevy Cavalier...ahhh...90 in third never felt so good... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Try a turbo so then you can have rrrrrrwheeeeeeeePSSHHH snick-rrrrwheeeeeeePSHHH. It's an Integra GS-R. I love turbos, but don't like owning them. There's a supercharger kit that fits perfectly with the engine, but then you have to turn the VTEC off, but I'm told it provides everyday livable 300bhp at 8000RPM. As it is, I have an AEM cold air. If I have any additional aftermarket work done, it'll be brake and suspension components. I can't add more power if I don't add more power to stop... Gawain 0 #19 October 2, 2003 Quote8100! i think i redline at 6... Ahh Hondas. Imagine the mayhem I could stir with an S2000... I saw some of the new TLs up close though. 6800 redline on a 3.2L V6, but it peaks 270bhp at 6200...get to use all that . The torque peaks at about 5000 but stays flat through the power peak...hmmmm... Gawain 0 #22 October 2, 2003 Yeah but pushrods, hydraulic lifters and 2 valves per cylinder in a V8....Power, yes. Refined, not really. Durable, mostly. Remember, the Mustang buried the Camaro/Trans Am. It was short on power, displacement and was more expensive. Still outsold GM 4:1. To each their own. I like seeing what the smaller equipment can do. This reminds me of a comparo that Cycle World and Car & Driver did, Viper V-10 versus Yamaha YZF1000R. The Viper outperformed the bike in a lot of areas, but threw a rod before the day was done. 1000cc/61cui versus 8.3L/506cui...
