Push 0 #27 October 1, 2003 A couple of bruises from bad openings, a couple of strained muscles that went away after an hour or two, some cuts and scratches. Mostly because I can PLF well My glasses got the brunt of my injuries. They're held together by chopped paperclips, are bent, and their lenses fall out all the time. Just the other day I was doing a jump and someone gave me a headbutt with their fullface (I wear a Mindwarp) Didn't notice that they knocked out a lens until I landed. No worries. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you. wingnut 0 #28 October 1, 2003 not really likely.. all depends though...... i've had to injuries but had nothing to o about the parachute itself just my flying skills.. sprined both ankles on diffrent ocasions when i was getting my new canopy dialed in for nice landing.. stupidity on my part....... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
happythoughts 0 #29 October 1, 2003 Quotei've had to injuries but had nothing to o about the parachute itself just my flying skills.. Whew! I thought the injuries might be related to parachutes or something. No one will count that as skydiving-related injuries probably.
Tonto 1 #30 October 1, 2003 QuoteWhat is the likelyhood that a person will have an accident while skydiving? If the chute is packed correctly, and deploys correctly. And what injuries have you had, and what caused them? Your chances of smashing yourself are excellent, and your chances of dying while skydiving are really good compared to just about everything including open warfare when compared to duration of exposure. I've broken an ankle on jump 10, and smashed a femur on jump 159. the last 3791 have been largely uneventful. tIt's the year of the Pig.
skymick 0 #31 October 1, 2003 Broken back from being stupid (my orginal excuse was the ground came out of nowhere...that doesnt cut it anymore )
slotperfect 7 #32 October 1, 2003 19 years, 2875 jumps, 3 injuries - all from landings. 1) Sprained ankle (as a student - 8 jumps) 2) Bruised heel 3) Bruised tailbone IMHO, injuries are most likely while landing . . . but these days free fall and canopy collisions are on the rise. dove 0 #36 October 2, 2003 Quote...almost bit tongue off -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I find this to be cause for alarm. Do be more careful. No need to be alarmed. I didn't lose any feeling or sense of taste. And as bonus, the scar overlaps a little bit at the end so I have a built in pleasure tip. Fall in dove.
