sundevil777 102 #3 September 27, 2003 Did you ever see "trainspotting"? Sounds very similar, very disturbing.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

Lol, when I was reading the first post I was instantly thinking of trainspotting too, although trainspotting is not really antidrugs. Actually it gives the viewer a rather cynical choice between ordinary standard mediocre consumer life or being a heroine addict. So it's a choice between two bads krek wak wou o_0
wingnut 0 #5 September 29, 2003 yeah i've seen trainspoting, this movie is diffrent though, couldn't tell ya exactly why but just is.... trainspoting is way more sinical/satire..... both movies have the main character naration parts, but this movie was just wierd.... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
Harksaw 0 #6 September 29, 2003 Have you ever seen "Requiem for a Dream"? If they showed that in 8th grade I dont think any of them would even think about taking any drugs. Really fscked up movie.__________________________________________________ I started skydiving for the money and the chicks. Oh, wait.
ber 0 #7 September 29, 2003 Have you guys ever seen "Christian F". A oldie movie/book about a german 13year old junkie girl. Any adult who watch the movie will say something like you:" kids who see this will never take drugs" well i think its the oposite, those stories always pull kids to the "dark side" cause theres some excitement around the "fredom" the caracters have. If i want to scare a kid i will show him a brazilian movie: "Pixote, a lei do mais fraco" i dont know if you can find this wherever you live, but the dif. is the storie goes from bad to worst never stopping for some "cool" moments. All others, in my point of view, give the idea that a kid can become a junkie and in some point after return to a health promising future. My point about anti-drugs education: give kids a better drug, cause something they must get. I will advice skydive, kinda impossible to mix with hard-drugs, and the adiction is all there ;) Sorry about the "bad english"Ber --------------------------------- "Who Needs Oxygen Anyway?" CrazyIvan 0 #8 September 29, 2003 Ask your kids to watch "Clueless", and then you can tell them that they better do good in school or they'll end up like those airheads in the movie. __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. TaeKwonDoDo 0 #9 September 29, 2003 I heard great things about "Secondhand Lions" as a family movie, so I went and took the wife and kids to the yesterday afternoon. Couldn't figure out what all the hubub was for - kept waiting for something to happen all the way till the credits started rolling. Nothing. A few bits of humor here and there, but weak story telling and you just kept waiting for something exciting to happen and the story to get moving - it never did. - Jeff "That's not flying, it's falling with style." goose491 0 #10 September 29, 2003 Hmmm, sounds like phun... if it's a "scared straight" type of movie you're looking for. Requiem for a Dream was pretty shaking too. Now, my attachment shows a real kids movie My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!

I opened this thread,, thinking it just might be about.. 2nd hand lions.... 'cause I also had heard "good" reviews..... I like Duval...( "I just LOVE the smell of napalm in the morning" ) plus I liked his portrayal of Augustus McRae ( ? ) in Lonesome Dove.... but.... I'll trust your judgment, and weigh it against anything else I hear about the flick,,,, before we'll go to see it.. thanx...
