P.S., he took greg for 150 already. so he is a confermed thief:(:(

But we got him in the end.....what a night

by the way, he ofered me to pay 400 and greg 350....for that setup, sounds weird

If this were real (for him, I mean, not a rip off artist), dude, that's a rip off, price wise. $500? That's a used Optik and a brand new TRV.

Edit: Where the flock is my brain tonight? I'm not even in the ballpark on that price. Between $500 and $600 just for the TRV. I guess it depends how cheap you can find a camera helmet for ($75 for mine, another $20 for a still mount, and I still need a D-Box if I want to get serious.)

no one except greg sent him money, When I was talking with greg he told us both at the same time to send the money. i even made sure there wasn't two cameras or something like that. I don't know what he was trying. Besides, you think he would try to sell it here first.

Just to add to this, if they use the mail, or cause the mail to be used, in any form to further the fraud then it is mail fraud. You don't necessarily need a money order to do it. You just need to do part of the transaction using a mail carrier. The problem is you are very unlikely to get any agency to investigate a $500 mail fraud case. There are too many $5-6 million mail fraud cases out there.

I'm not defending him, but I dont think theres anything wrong with posting something on the classifieds and then putting it on Ebay for a couple days. Unless he tries to collect money from several people of course.

That is NOT the profile of someone you want to buy things from on ebay.

I can offer my stuff to anyone at anytime. Until they pay.... There is NO SALE.....1st one to pay is the winner... END of STORY.... Seems like this guy has alot of them......

There is no Harm in negotiating with multiple people....... As for the $150.00, that guy bought my full face helmet in a seperate auction and the item was shipped.........

Actually that's not true. An auction on ebay is a closed deal once it ends. If the person doesn't pay, you can try to sell it again separately, but if you sell an item to someone different between when an auction closes and when you receive payment, you are violating a contract with the buyer on ebay.

Not True, i could pay. Was waiting the responce email from the seller. i told him i could have the money at the end of the week. He never replyed before trying to sell it to another person. When I did replay stating I had the money, he never ended the deal with the other person. I told him my wife was droping off the money in the mail that night, and the other was to do a online transaction. So my money would be on the way amd he would have the money from the other man. So who gets the helmet when my check arrives?........ He gave me 24 hours to pay. The 24 hour werent even up before he started trying to find someone else. If in fact the helmet is real, and he tries to sell it agian, maybe some honesty would be a good quality. Either way, it sounded to funny to risk my 500 buck on. Note to seller, when your playing with that much money online, best thing is not to play and just stick to the deal. If It was done correctly, you might have that helmet sold for the price you wanted. And then agian, I might have just dumped $500 bucks down the whole. Either way, I took the money and bought a brand ne TRV22.

Scuba - you're only kinda right. If you have one listing on Ebay and one on Dropzone, and they're for the same one item, it's not right that someone can be outbid by a different site. List it once and sell to the highest bidder on either site, not both. You're correct that no rule disallows listings on multiple sites, but it's bad form and as a skydiver, I think other skydivers would expect more from you.

Popeye - most Ebayers expect prompt payment. I think winning an auction, then saying "I'll have the money in a week" is wrong. Especially if it's specified in the description that payment is due in 24hrs or whatever. Does the gear store at the DZ sell you stuff and let you pay a week later?

lets get some things striaght. he ended the auction early WITHOUT my concent telling me I needed to pay him today. When I told him i would pay him on t he day the auction was suppose to end then he tried to sell it to someone else. Then When I contacted him telling him I had the money ( one day later mind you) he was in the proccess of selling it to the other. Me and the other were talking and he never ended any deal with either party know both were sending the money. If you want to end a auction early, you have to list that in the auction discription.

He never listed it in two different places. The big thing was he was selling it to two different people at the same time....exact same time. Prompt payment, totaly agree. I pay same day....when things don't smell fishy. Things smelled my a cat house one the first day of that week.

Hope that cleared some things up.
