BikerBabe 0 #1 September 23, 2003 OK, so you all know I broke my femur a month ago. So Saturday, I get a call from BikerDude (my motorcycle racing hubby), and guess what? He broke his tibia, fibula, and two bones in his ankle on saturday. After you're finished laughing at the mental picture of the two of us gimping around the house together (don't worry, I laughed...), please send some vibes/prayers our way...it's going to be a tough couple of months. Not just for healing, either. I'm pretty upset about this, since it's been just over a year since he broke both ankles. This will probably be the 2nd year in a row that his injury will keep us from our big vacation that we've been planning for 2 years...So I'm depressed/angry right now, too. Thanks y'all. BikerBabe 0 #23 September 23, 2003 Thanks everyone. Just a little update. I think God doesn't want us going to Australia. Turns out his injury is pretty serious, and will take 6-8 months to heal. And he'll probably never have full range of motion in his ankle. the fibula is broken and the two halves are overlapping now, he fractured the tibia, has a small fracture in his ankle bone, but the worst is he shattered the bone that is right beneath the tib-fib in the ankle (have no idea what it's called) and the pieces are floating everywhere in there. He'll probably have to have some of his ankle bones fused in the future, but they are going to start with an external fixation to put the long bones back in place. So he's in for at least two surgeries and wearing a star-trek-looking brace with pins into his leg for a while.
