freefalle 0 #4 September 22, 2003 it probably is searching for internet access, maybe to update the drivers or something try this. Open and connect to AOL before installing the cd, if it already sees an active internet connection maybe it wont look to open another one. Good luck

Hp7900 0 #6 September 22, 2003 The Cd that I am putting in says ( SAMSUNG USERS GUIDE). Is this the cd that I need to install the burner with, it has to be? it's the only cd that came with the burner besides NERO Burner 5, I tried connecting to the internet first, but it still opens up AOL 7.0 I am currently using AOL 8.
Hp7900 0 #7 September 22, 2003 Now instead of AOL poping up, this message pops up. INTERNET EXPLORER Cannot find '/file:Dmanual1endex.htm'. Make sure the path or internet address is correct. What does this mean?
ber 0 #8 September 22, 2003 Windows98? xp? what kind of operative system you have? Just a shot in the dark: if windowsxp your cd burner is already installed without any cd, and aol is because you trying to see a manual located in some webpage. Go to samsung webpage and download drivers for your cd/operating system, then install those.Ber --------------------------------- "Who Needs Oxygen Anyway?" pds 0 #9 September 22, 2003 now, it's been a while since i actually got my hands dirty, but you do not have to "INSTALL" a burner. plug it in, install nero - read nero help and go. sounds like the user manual is forcing an internet connection or forcing a service change. either way, skip it. good lucknamaste, motherfucker. The buffer underrun is NOT only software, newer burners have this feature in the drive itself, is a combination of Hardware/software.__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. That also depends on HOW FAST your CPU is my friend as well as the HD, if you have an older system, you're out of luck. Creating an image won't help much, since it will read the HD and copy to the CDR in the same fashion__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. pds 0 #20 September 23, 2003 bad advice, ivan. making an image is THE solution to most all burning problems. sorry pal. toooo much experience - didn't you notice the parrot on my shoulder?namaste, motherfucker.
lummy 4 #21 September 23, 2003 you might want to be a little more specific in how to create an image, I had a Dell gx1 that was a P3 450... Usually, I'd need to burn at 2x or 4x to get it to complete... Good thing CD's are cheap nowadays, huh....I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. Hp7900 0 #22 September 23, 2003 My computer is a new computer, it is only a year old, I just burned a cd using WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, but it took 20 minutes? Is there any way to speed up the speed on Windows Media Player? I mean I bought a 52x burner to burn cds fast? Why would the burner only work when using windows media player, and not work when using NERO?

CD drives have 3 speeds: Read-Write-rewrite, the read is 52x but the write might be slower and rewrite slowest, check the manual and you'll see what I'm talking about. check the specs of your unit. Also, you can try a different burning software such as Prassi PrimoCD, is not as fancy as NERO or Roxio but is very good.__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.
