Recommended Posts

Nope. It is a DHC2-T with Wipeline 6000 amphib floats & PT-6A engine.

Airframe has 21898hrs,

Engine has 300 hrs,

Prop has 400 hrs,

Make an offerat Steve Assaly aircraft sales - prob around US $550K.

I voted for the Connie.. it was the VERY first airplane I got to fly in when I was very little... its sleek design and the feel of the airplane in flight just recalls a bygone era.. concieved in war but the civilian versions were built when times were good and they flew around the world every day. The stewardess were so very nice and so elegant.
Today there are just a handfull left of this gracefull airplane

Sorry Petey, but after strenuous research. On the part of people a lot smarter than me it was found to be...a Dumod Liner N445DM. Serial # AF 152. It is a converted Beech model TC 45G with P&W R-985 series radial engines. Its the last of three converted in 64-69 by the Dumod corp of Opa Locka, Fla. and the only tripled tailed Model 18. It has a 75" extension added to the forwrd passenger section. It is currently owned by a man from Del Rio and runs freight out of SAT. You can see after8pm over by the Airborne terminal off Wetmore. Thanks to my friend Mark for the detective work.

I was just thinking that the F-8 Crusader was one fine machine too...a pure fighter. B|
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

I'm down for the SR71 too. I saw one up close and personal in San Antonio. It's awesome.

They are really cool planes! I have seen two in museums-Salt Lake City and one in Seattle......the one in Seattle is the best, the cockpit is cut out and you can sit in it! One of the engines is cut too, and that is pretty neat as well!B|

My aerospace professor designed the P180, and it is the fastest cruising turboprop in production....but not quite as sexy as the Cessna Citation X!!!

OK, Not as Fast, but A LOT cheaper to buy & run.

Plus, with a C-X on the apron half the folk'd look & say "Learjet". With a P-180...B|

Apparently there's some place in British Columbia that's going into making new DHC-2 Beavers:)
Now all we need is somebody to reconstitute the Fairey Aircraft Corporation and fire up the Rotordyne:):):):)
