mr2mk1g 10 #7 September 15, 2003 mmmm credit cards.... I had 2 weeks in perris at easter on my "september card" (aka sainsburries visa to be paid off by sept) I just ordered a new rig6 months interest free works nicely so long as your responsible and do actually pay it off in time... then again... how many skydivers have you met that you could call responsible? Unstable 9 #9 September 15, 2003 I bought my rig with a Personal Loan - Way cheaper than paing 22% interest with a credit card - Quotethen again... how many skydivers have you met that you could call responsible? you see..... this is why skydivers probably shouldn't have credit cards in the first place , never-the-less, should they be using those things to pay for lift tickets.=========Shaun ==========
dterrick 0 #10 September 15, 2003 QuoteWhat the heck are those weeds growing in front of the billboard?? California Oragano Ya I know it looks a bit funny in that pic. Actually those aren't "weeds" they're like TREES ... that's a mondo size bilboard right on the edge of 101 - I was "shooting up" at a "high" angle ... not wanting to do an illegal and reverse up the freeway... not me There. That's my couinterculture insinuation for the day. enjoy. -Dave Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)

I figured it was more practical to have it on my back than in the bank. I couldn't spend it after I'd gone anyway. David
Bolas 5 #13 September 15, 2003 Credit cards are great for first jumpers. They go out to a DZ jump all weekend and on Monday report it stolen... What is a drop zone? Skydiving? Why the hell would I do that? We'd pretend we never saw em before. No, some other dude, don't remember the name. We get lots of people, no, they took the video, no the videographers don't keep copies of the video... Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

I drive by that sign almost every day. It's a cool sign. I think that "THEY PAY ME TO DO THIS" was inspired by the late Johnny "Luv" Horton, Para-Rescue Man and skydiver extraordinaire. The parachutes are quite large, so don't expect much swoopage if you join up. ...as for the first post... don't charge your jumps..My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... BlueEyedMonster 0 #18 September 16, 2003 QuoteCredit cards are great for first jumpers. They go out to a DZ jump all weekend and on Monday report it stolen... That would be a great Idea, however the DZ would loose the cash. The Credit Card bank would not pay the DZ because they accepted a stolen card. You wouldn't want to do that to your new DZ now would ya.
freeflir29 0 #19 September 16, 2003 Quotedunno, but this bilboard suggests we could get PAID to jump... Oh you can. What they don't tell you is that they have figured out ways to have you jump with the LEAST fun possible. Like jumping when it's 15 degrees on the ground.....with 150 Lbs of crap strapped to you......landing in COMPLETE darkness at half brakes.....and then walking around in the woods for the next 3-90 days. Hmmmm....no wonder they pay you....
usmcdannyboy 0 #20 September 16, 2003 yea leave it to the military to totaly suck the fun out of anything...i joined the army because they said just that...we'll pay you to jump...and it took me almost 10 years to actually go do my first jump course outside of the military, I think Anthony Hopkins said it best in "legends of a fall"..."SCREW 'EM"I am the light my son...What you seek is fire
