Push 0 #1 September 11, 2003 At 9:59am on September 9th, 2001, the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. To me, this marks the the point where 9/11 went from horrible to unbelievable. I propose that everyone, left or right, French and American, heck, even Arab, take a minute of silence at 9:59am tomorrow morning to reflect on the thousands of lives that ended exactly 2 years ago. May our children never experience this. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. BlueEyedMonster 0 #2 September 11, 2003 I respect your thoughts and your wishes, but I respectfully decline. The past has past. A minute of silence will do nothing to resolve what has happened. I during this time, I will continue to work or sleep whatever I am doing. My life will continue on as normal, remembering the lessons learned, but not dwelling on the past. Push 0 #3 September 11, 2003 I understand what you're saying. I just wanted to see the divided sides of every imaginable argument that has ever stemmed from anything related to this come together and remember what it is that they're arguing about. Maybe taking a break to remember what it is that we're trying to prevent here will add a sense of reality to the incessant arguments and finger pointing. Heck, it could even lead to a greater cooperation and understanding between all the different elements of society. Yes, I know I'm being naive. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and our country. Thank you for your post.
lazyfrog 0 #6 September 11, 2003 my suggestion is to take a minute to think about why people were pushed to try and destabilise the US imperialism. all my respect to families of people who dissapeared in this tragic event.---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT
Push 0 #7 September 11, 2003 Quotemy suggestion is to take a minute to think about why people were pushed to try and destabilise the US imperialism. While I mostly agree with the posts I read from you, I feel I must comment. Thinking that Al Qaeda and the other forms of terror are purely a product of third-party oppression is about just as naive as thinking that they are a product of nothing but religious bigotry. While it's true that the US did not exactly treat everyone nicely, the reason why they chose the path of suicide terrorism, as opposed to putting all their energy into economic separatism and guerilla warfare for instance, is purely religious. 9/11 and the Arab terror network is an Islamic crusade. Ask yourself, is it a coincidence that most of these people come from the most xenophobic countries around? -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. The UN headquarters in Baghdad was bombed, no make that demolished, only a few weeks ago. If they're trying to 'destabilise the US imperialism' why attack the UN? It's not just us, it's everyone. Shall we recall the foiled plot to fly an airliner into the Eiffel Tower in 1994?
lazyfrog 0 #9 September 15, 2003 well, is it really correct to ruin the tourism in egypt, pretending that every egyptian is intifadda-al quaea and whatever related ??? this is just an example of the US worldwide disinformation... I am just very angry about the influence of US system... not getting excuses or anything... and now with irak... OK, they maybe got saddam out, but we believe that the next ones will be religious, and you know that religious people in these countries are very seldome moderate.---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT
