How long have you been jumping

Recommended Posts

A little bit of a lighter post.

Just curious as to how long most people here have been jumping. Also what are some of your best memories of jumping?

5 months, 6 days. Best memories so far are finally finding my body position and feeling comfortable (6th jump), and then this past Sunday, doing my first solo and not having to do anything at all but hang out in the sky and feel the pure exhiliration of really flying!!!

I have been jumping for over 10 years.

Memories? There are so many it is hard to mention.

I went to the First "Harvest Moon Boogie!" That ws a blast.

I guess I would have to say that my most memorable years in Skydiving would have been while I was stationed in Louisiana and jumping in Beaumont, Texas (Skydive America). There was a small group of us that hung out and did everrything together. We jumped, ate, and partied/clubbing all as a group. It was a really nice close nit bunch. I will never forget those that were part of the Beaumont crowd. I miss them as we have all gone in different directions.

My current place is Z-Hills. I cannot say enough about the individuals their either. The group took care of me when I was hit by an ASS under canopy at Quincy in '99. Thaks so much to Richard & Leslie-Ann for making sure I had a ride back from the hospital. Arlo for trying to kill the guy who hit me. Then when I had my injury in Dec '99 everyone came to the hospital and even snuck some alcohol in for me. What a group. I am now deep rooted at Z-Hills. I just bought one of the Condo's which is only 4-Miles from the DZ. It is very nice.:)
Well, that is just a short thing. I have not mentioned hardly anything but it would take me forever and I am at work. Not to mention I came in late today. Actually I am just worn the hell out. Another Long story.

One year, one month. 116 as of now, with my last being my first night jump (yes, yes, beer)B|

Best? Too difficult to choose. My 100th was great, even though the hybrid never built. The night jump was awesome, as was the helicopter jump. There was one particularly good jump when me and a buddy went up to do a flat 2-way and we were both very inexperienced with flat flying, so we thought that we'll be all over the place, but we ended up doing something like 13 points and came down with a smile. The jump when I finally got sitflying was awesome.

Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.

5 years, 2 + months.

Fondest memories? There are sooo many, but the few that really stand out are:
1. My first kiss pass, from Sunshine.
2. Being drug around the sky like a sack of potatoes by bozo.
3. Landing my tiny reserve (126 @ ~1.65 to 1) for the first time on my first night jump.

2 years, 11 months.. but it took me 7 months from AFF1 to graduation... I wasn't all that interested at first.. :P

AFF has taken me 4 months, despite my interest, due to failing :( and lack of funds...

3 yrs on Nov 12 since my 1st jump.

Jumping seriously (after 'getting rid of' restrictive whuffo boyfriend and finding bad ass freeflyer ;)) since August of 2002.

This sport has helped me grow so much as a person. It has changed my life in so many ways - ALL for the better. B|
