Anyone Golf??

Recommended Posts

Golf is Evil ..... the men in my family are all golfoholics..and claim its good exercise.... this while riding all 18 holes on a golf cart.:S

Now if they got out and actually WALKED all 7000 yards maybe I might buy its a little bit of exercise.

I think I'm a really good golfer.

I'm also a good speller, it pisses me off when folks (mostly guys) mispel words

And I'm really good at procrastinating.

from my post in "What are you really good at?"
Yeah i love the game :)

Yep.

Well, I used to, and still do, sorta.

I started golfing when I was 6 (that's 26 years ago).

I worked on golf courses for many years. From 8 years old to 16 (1987), I helped my father, who was the greenskeeper for Cedar Springs Golf Course, Manawa, WI.

From 1991 to 1993 I was greenskeeper at that same course. 1994 I was on the grounds crew for Waupaca Country Club, Waupaca, WI (private club). 1995 to 1997 I was Asst. Superintendant of New London Country Club, New London, WI.

During that stretch of time, I never had to pay to play. Naturally, I got quite good, since I was able to play daily, for free. I managed to get down to a 3 handicap (for 18 holes).

That said, that shit is expensive now!

A decent championship course here (Fox Fire) will run you $45 for 18 holes and a cart, WEEKDAYS!

For this reason, I have not golfed at all this year, one 18 hole round last year, and probably 6 - 10 rounds total since leaving the greens and grounds indusrty.

I rock at Golf - My scores are always higher

Golf and pool are both excellent investments of money for me. I can get hours more of entertainment than most people from them. Especially if I play with someone who has the same dedication to quality play that I do, and no one waiting behind me :D

Yeah, I golf. I try to split my time between jumping and golfing now. I've also done demos at golf courses (always fun) and bring my clubs out to the dz in case of wind holds - a good way to practice the short game out at the tuffet. Hell, if the ceiling is that low, I'll run out and play 9 and then come back to the dz!

I golf, Water-Ski, RollerBlade, Surf, and soon Dive.

You know you can try to golf when the weather is not right for jumping.

It is very hard to keep it all together. If you want to though you can.

That's what happens on no-wind days, particularly if I'm careless about flaring :S

Just curious does anyone in here golf?? I used to but since I started skydiving I havent had the desire. Id rather spend the day at the DZ.

Thats me in a nutshell. I used to golf about 100 times per summer, this summer, I started skydiving...golfed twice. It just seems boring now.

TLML and I used to play at least 36 holes per weekend and tried to play many different courses. It took me 25 years to get her to try the game and once she played, she was hooked.

Then 6 years later we tried skydiving. We have not been on a golf course to play since May 1998.

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
