Was really great to finally put some faces to names

It was simply great to meet and skydive with you! Hope that we have the opportunity to do so again in the future.
I have to agree with SM1. Its about community and friendship. Please take the time to come over and introduce yourselves and if ya feel like it sign the banner.
Cheers!

Bring your gear and a few jump tickets and maybe a 6 pack too, and hang out for awhile. No need to be shy, you're among family there. :)

I meet some of the dropzone.comers. I admit, I didn't hang out at the tent as much as I would have liked. We were set up right behind the dropzone.com tent.

I even got to meet the big guy. I kept trying to kiss his ring, and finally he let me:)

I stopped by the tent a few times & met some lovely people.

Thats all we ask. Chuckie realizes that you have other freinds at the convention, but at least making time to come hang out for a bit in the dz.com tent was awesome of you. And thanks for the jump too!!

I was shocked to read on here about dz.commers that said they never bothered to come to the tent. I mean, people finally have the chance to meet people they chat with online and they don't bother to put forth the effort to walk a few hundred feet to the tent.

That being said i had a few groups of people that i spent time with in rantoul that are not on this site. A few nights i wasn't anywhere near the dz.com tent or the party tent. I spent time in the RV park with some of the guys from my old dropzone just hanging out with them. I know canuckinusa was with a group from his home dz, but he still came around to visit and stuff. Nobody is expected to spend all their time in the dz.com tent.

When i meet someone new, i don't automatically ask if they're on dz.com unless they're wearing a shirt. I love meeting new people, whether they are posters here or not. Going to a big place like rantoul and sticking only with your own little group is just wrong in my opinion.

hey, I was suppose to do a jump w/ you as well skydekker, but everytime i went by the tent you was SLEEPIN!!

huh? Are you sure it was me? I never slept during the day and not much during the night. I was usually one of the first dz.commers to be jumping in the morning. So I am not sure what you are talking about :S

A lot of people from dz.com came over and did jumps at the Muff tent. I visited the dz.com tent and many others. I know a lot of the other load organizers and visited them at the other tents also.

For those of you who do not know SM1, I posted a pic of him sittin on the Monkey wagon in the my Rantoul pics thread.

I totally agree with him on the visitation idea. I can jump Otters every weekend in Z-hills. I can jump tailgate a/c whenever I want. I go to WFFC to see old friends. I know people that I see during Christmas boogie in Z-hills and at the convention.

For me, 50% of going to the convention is skydiving and 50%. People can do serious 6/8-way at home. I go to promote the fun of skydiving. I teach serious skills in a non-serious way. I also learned some stuff about rafts from Scotty this year.

There is an underlying spirit to skydiving. Meet people and share it.

At Rantoul I...

Got thrown off the back of a truck while getting a ride back for the swoop pond area

Yeh? Well I got the transmission fixed so I won't do that again! For some reason my little truck balked at being driven in nothing but first gear for 10 days......

Got naked in front of god knows how many people

Yeh? And I heard you took PICTURES too! Hey, I may be old enough to be your mom, but I'd like one of those!

....Hey anyone see the second edition of tht paper being published for the convention?? I hope no more
pictures of me came out!!

I have a copy right here, and no more Gimp,,,, too bad......

oh i knew better than to leave my camera around, i am assuming there are some nice pics that i will be having my roomate look through first. as for being passed out in the tent, well i slept in my tent as long as posible but when ya start to fry in your tent at like 8am ya just got to move to a cooler location... the 2 nights i stayed up all night did't help either and being painted with nailpolish around the face also takes a load of energy to get off.... luckly there was nail polish remover around!!!!

p.s. the duck joke will be told forever more... there is no stopig it!!!!
p.p.s. yes i'll change my sig line sometime... just not yet....

I'm sorry monkeychucker and others. I am a guilty persona for not gracing the dz.com tent. But i was super busy working so it's not like i was ignoring anyone. If it makes you feel any better i didn't hang out in the RB tent either. and i was often working on photos till 11pm...:S then i broke myselfB| so i only parteed with my trauma center a few visitors.

and I agree with Erica... It's easy to recognize people who's face is their actual avatar like mine (i don't have time to go through the mugshots). So a lot of people recognized me and i feel bad if i'm like "and you are..." and i'm really bad with names so i apologize if i forgot anyone's name at the convention and well next time i see ya i'll forget too. See I put my name on my rig so people like me have an easy way to remember and not look like a ass.

that's all i have to say about that

peace lew
