My cat Femurred

Recommended Posts

It is all speculation at this point, and there is no way to be certain of the exact cause because he ain't talking, but my theory is;

SHADOW (my cat) jealous of my skydiving talants tried to copy me and took a dive off of our tall dresser. Needless to say he didn't PLF good and snapped his Femur right near the ball socket of the hip. He is under the knife as we speak and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Vibes for poor shadow B|

I used to be that way too, but with this cat it is different... I don't know why. I used to be mister insensitive, but I have gotten soft with my age. Plus, it is not easy to look into your fiances crying eyes and say NO. Sometimes it is just easier to open the wallet. We are splitting the cost though.

ok.. I gotta tell this story about my friend Tom.. His wife had this cat for 14 years. The thing was going blind, just laid around all day and would barely get off the porch when it went outside. So one night it stayed out and a couple of the neighbor's pitbulls come down the street and grab hold of the feeble feline and start playing tug-of-war. Tom comes running out naked to break up the fight and takes care of it. By this time half the neighborhood is out looking at naked Tom and his torn-up kitty.. His wife is bawling. So he takes the thing to the vet and they amputate the leg and most of the tail and give it a 50/50 shot at living.. Infections set in and they keep bringing it back for a period of about a month before Tripod finally kicked the bucket. It cost them $7,000, $5,000 of which the neighbor's insurance covered.. and now they have an urn on their mantle with $2,000 worth of kitty ashes in it. Every time Tom looks at it, he gets this pissed-off look in his eyes. But I think Linda will love him forever for trying to save that raggedy old thing.:P

[:/] Poor kitty.

Do they sell pet insurance? I haven't had a pet in a really long time, but I'd like one at some point, and it makes sense that they'd have insurance that covered regular shots and check-ups and accidents...

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

I was thinking of getting pet insurance, but I know if I did get it now, my cat would never get hurt again and it would just be a waste of my money.

I believe the pitbulls were disposed of properly.. There was no room in the freezer.. Come to think of it.. he did have a barbecue shortly after... :o

Mine too!! Kisi ran off for a few days, and came home with a broken femur :(
It's setting nicely though the vet said, we are to bring him back after 6 weeks or so for another check.
The vet (also a jumper!) says cats have amazing abilites to heal, so we'll see how this goes.

- vibes to Shadow from me and Kisi :)
