Steel 0 #30 August 27, 2003 What no one likes Golf? ---------------------------------- Golf is what I like to refer to as an exclusive game. It about as much fun as billiards. Well not quite, not for me at least. In any case they charge and arm and a leg to play it and I hardly think its worth it. I understand that the reason for that is not to have a pretty green lawn but to keep rich people together in a place that lower income people can not afford to go to. Ok thats kewl for the most part. There is however one thing I don't like about that. That is that all too often important business decisions are made on golf courses and people like me who have no desire to go and throw a serious amount of money down the drain there are left out of those decisions. I propose that from now on, casual business conversations take place on an Otter on the way to altitude rather than a golf course. Most of the ghetto usually can't afford the dropzone so that has its own filtering effect. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

Muenkel 0 #32 August 27, 2003 Without a doubt, America's pastime Baseball. Definitely my favorite to watch. I also enjoy the Olympics, both Summer and Winter. I always try to see as much of the coverage as I can. And Turtlespeed, I too like golf. I enjoy playing it more than watching it, but I will watch certain tournaments, especially the Masters. quade 4 #33 August 27, 2003 Kids watch sports to see what they could become. Adults watch sports to see what they were. Talk to most skydivers and golf on TV is about as boring as it gets. Ask a golfer and golf on TV is the most exciting thing on the planet. From a technical standpoint, the most polished and perfected sports coverage is by far football (American football). The game and the broadcasters have worked hand-in-hand at creating a game and product that is both highly watchable (lots of action and drama) and leaves plenty of small gaps in the action that can get filled with commercials -- so it's also highly profitable. It's almost the perfect TV sport. By contrast, most Americans have a very difficult time watching or even understanding the concept of Soccer. I'm not trying to put it down, just explain that to most Americans it's unfathomable why the players don't just freekin' take the ball down the field and take a LOT more shots on goal. WAY too long between anything significant happening. FAR too much positioning. Maybe it's our short attention spans.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
