riddler 0 #5 August 27, 2003 Really - if he had an anti-grav suit, he wouldn't need a balloon. As a matter of fact, none of would ever need planes to skydive either. Where do I get one of those??? Man, is this thing ever going to happen? I've been excited to see it happen for more than a year now. This is a great thing for skydiving, IMO, as long as no one gets hurt.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
murrays 0 #6 August 27, 2003 Michel had one balloon....if he is to make another attempt he will have to raise money to do it. They might be back her ein Saskatchewan next spring but there is no way to know right now. (Our club President was out at the launch site when the balloon failed, and that is all I have heard about another attempt)-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
Tonto 1 #7 August 27, 2003 QuoteMan, is this thing ever going to happen? Goes to show what an acheivement it was in the 1960's... 1000's of people have summited Everest, 100's have swum the channel. Maybe it's like the moom landings - and never happened in the 1st place... tIt's the year of the Pig.
Remster 30 #8 August 27, 2003 QuoteGoes to show what an acheivement it was in the 1960's With all due respect to the awsome feat that it was, I think things were quite different back then. No $ issue (millitary backing) being the main, huge, immense difference.Remster
