dropdeded 0 #1 August 22, 2003 Just a shot in the dark here. Any dot.commer's jumping at Skydive Taft this weekend? Im doing a recurrency jump saturday morning and I was just wondering if anyone here, jumps there? Its been almost a year and my last jump involved an injury so, I may need someone to maybe hand me a towel if I wet myself. It would be cool to meet any dz.commer's that may be there too. DTOXX, maybe see ya there, Im goin early, gonna be a hot one tomorrow. dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
TEB6363 0 #2 August 22, 2003 Where the hell is Taft... J/K Good luck on the jump. BTW, thanks for offering to let us hold a towel for your "cleanup" afterward...., but no thanks.... How bout some Depends??? Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
fundgh 0 #3 August 22, 2003 I don't think many Taft folks knows much about computer machines! There are a couple of us that used to jump at AAW, but find other spots now. SD Santa Barbara in Lompoc has a Caravan on Sunday...just a thought....FUN FOR ALL!
DTOXX 0 #4 August 22, 2003 uhhh kumpoootar? Is that the QWERTY thing? I will know later tonight if I will be jumping tomorrow. My bud Corky Ferguson is going to do 30 jumps in celebration of his 30th birthday at Taft tomorrow so I know I will be there but it may be early with my leaving early. ?? On the other hand, a Caravan huh??? ------- D.T. Holder SIMstudy
Racenic 0 #5 August 23, 2003 I hope that you do know AWW is closed and has move their business and planes over to Cal City http://www.skydivecaliforniacity.com/ So give them a call before you head over to Taft? dropdeded 0 #6 August 23, 2003 I hope that you do know AWW is closed and has move their business and planes over to Cal City ------------------------------------------------------------ Yep, AAW is the only place I've jumped at. I hung out at Skydive Taft a couple weeks ago and was welcomed to the "Dark" side of Taft Just a little nervous about jumping at a new dz, landing pattern and all (bein a lowtimer ya know) dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
Racenic 0 #7 August 23, 2003 Dude, You will have no problem and all with Cal City Landing pattern and all. It's the desert and it's wide open. Just make sure your facing into the wind. Cal City is a small family owned and operated DZ You will have no problem fitting in. Everyone there is really cool and are willing to jump with you regardless of how many jumps you have. I jumped with Matt McCarter, who was one of my aff instructors at AAW, and his passion for the sport is indescribable.
