SkyAnt 0 #1 August 25, 2003 What is your favorite jumpship and why? More so at your local DZ level but its open really. Comfort, performance, climb rate, turbine or no turbine, rear door or back door (no pun intended), prop, rotor or jet. Personally. I like the Skyvan. Just one look at her back door of a Sunday morning and I'm dying to jump her. Some say they don't like the way she wines, others don't like the way she looks. Either way you can hardly go past her for head room. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." SkyAnt 0 #10 August 25, 2003 I was originally going to write. Do you prefer Otter or Skyvan? But decided to leave it open. Do I have to spoon feed you all. This is what this thread is for. Ok then. freeflir29 0 #11 August 25, 2003 Skyvan....hands down. Fast....Huge tailgate....comfy places to sit. It's the only way to go!!!
Remster 30 #12 August 25, 2003 QuoteIt's the only way to go!!! blah..... in the same category, the CASA is much more supremer. But yeah, AN-72 rocks!Remster
skybytch 273 #13 August 25, 2003 Depends on the type of jump. For the wingsuit I love the Skyvan; kick ass visuals. For RW I like the Otter (although pulling a chunk or diving off a tailgate is fun too). For freeflailing I like the Otter.
freeflir29 0 #14 August 25, 2003 Quotein the same category, the CASA is much more supremer Hmmm ....let's see. Takes twice as long to get to alti and the sides of the aircraft curve in around the tailgate. I have had some tense moments after scraping my rig across there on the way out. The ONLY thing good about a Casa is the tail gate.

freeflygoddess 0 #22 August 25, 2003 QuoteWhat about Mullins King-Air? I do have to agree here. I love Mike's King Air. I think I just like the way he stands you up at exit time. However, I like the Otter at Eloy too...but I hate the smell the people create in them...I have yet to jump out of the Skyvan, but will on AZ Days. The Porter I hate, too small and too slow...However I do think it is kewl to see the Porter outside the Otter's window on the way up, he always does some stupid trick to show off... I will have to say the Otter we have is very comfortable. Sure as hell beats a Porter or Cessna. I still like the Sky Van though - you get a much better view of the groups leaving I think.Scars remind us that the past is real
 Prev 1 2 Next Page 1 of 2 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
