Eloy Boogie Info

Recommended Posts

Seeing as I was jumping at 6500 MSL yesterday (and I jump at 5000 MSL at my home DZ), I think 1500 MSL shouldn't be an issue for me (who knows, it may be a little slow on this camper).
Now I've seen a few hot landings at my DZ (our own Hook'nswoop being one of the hottest I've see), but it'll be interesting to see of the other world class swoopers at Eloy. Of course my landings will be pretty boring compared to theirs. :P

Matt.. you REALLY have to get outta bed earlier!! This is the second time you've asked questions that are already answered.. about 1500 msl....

I jumped there last June and coming from a 130' msl you DO notice a faster landing, but then again, it will be a lot cooler in December which will slow things down a bit too... Just be careful on your first few jumps

At that altitude a 180deg turn and you'll be SCREAMING in.

Funny. I didn't really notice a difference in speed as much as I did notice a significant increase in the distance I covered as I cartwheeled through the landing area...

That has to be one of the funniest things I've read today...

btw....to get a perspective on elevation, if you jumped at:

Couch Freaks you jumped at 1157ft
Lost Prarie - 3560ft
WFFC (rantoul) - 737ft
WFFC (quincy) - 769ft
Perris Valley - 1413ft

So some of you, especially if you have jumped at Perris have probably already landed at that elevation.

To find out info about DZs you have jumped at go to www.airnav.com/airport
Fly it like you stole it!

dude, you really gotta stop hitting the pipe so early in the morning, so maybe you will pay more attention to my question. :S I asked what the AGL altitude was... meaning what is the jump run elevation ? 12,500, 13,000 or 14,000, or 15,000 ?? Comprendo ?

I jumped at Lost Prarie this year, so a 3500' elevation was a bit higher than 1500 . :D also add the termperature to increase density altitude.

'Kay, so if the God of Finances smiles on me, I will be there...in the mean time, I figured out that if I don't pay the electric bill, and stop eating for 3 weeks, and pay only 1/2 of my car payment, I can actually take the Canopy Control Class this week (Wednesday, to be exact...).

So all you really most excellent swoopers, all you fast as heck sky gods and goddesses, all you massively wonderful jumpers, watch out! I'm gonna outswoop each and every one of you!:):)

O.K., so I'm not. But at least this way, perhaps I can land on my feet more than I land on my, ahem, "bumpers".....:)

Hey Skycat~
That was a cool link for the airports. Things sure are different over here in FL though. I've jumped at a whopping 30 ft in Titusville, and 79 ft up in the highlands in DeLand!

I could stand up straight in the CASA if I tilted my head to one side. I'm 6'1"-ish, so you may be able to...*shrug*

hmmm.. that won't work then cause I'm about the same height :(
I guess if I tucked my legs instead, it'd work. Problem is that you'd have to add a foot n a half for arm length...

That you have Miche, and even drunk, you're still better at em then I ;)

Pardon me for a sec...

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!

Sorry, I'm fine now.

This is all a matter of perspective. I suppose if you're froma sea level DZ, Eloy will feel fast. To me, Eloy landings are nice and tame...

I can't wait!

*S I G H*

[:/]

Considering my current financial situation I won't be able to make it to Eloy.:(And I really wanted to show you all my boobies!!!!!:P Seriously though - I am so bummed. And despite that I found good tickets, all the other stuff like registration, food, gas, jumps, etc. will add up to too much. I'll be with you all in spirit though, groping myself while bumming around my home dzs. *tear*
