Old Hands but First Log Book

Recommended Posts

It makes me laugh that people have status against their names like veteran, old hand, et cetera and they have jump numbers that barely get them off Whuffo status.
It seems you all spend more time talking about skydiving than actually jumping……. What’s the old saying “Shut up and Jump”???
Tell me – how many jumps are you people doing on average a year? – in a country with better weather than here in Blighty can you really call it deserving of being called a skydiver? –are you actually how you all portray yourselves – HardCore??? – I bet cha that there are a fair few on this board who talk as good skydivers – but in real life you are a wannabe…….. get a phuqking life……. Keep the alter-egos for the sad arsed message boards for lonely sados looking for sad cyber sex………..
It cracks me up to hear people with 50 or 60 jumps talk about hooking, swooping, headdown, cranking points – gimme a break will ya……… you don’t kid anyone………..

3fLiEr,
Sure some people are like that. But a lot more of the 50-60 jump people (including myself), are more interested in learning about skydiving than talking shit about things I don't know about.
As to why we are "Old Hands" or whatever, some of us have time at work to post. So what? It isn't an issue of "Shut up and Jump". If I could jump more, I would. Such is life in the real world.

hey ass.....just cuz we just got into the sport doesn't mean that we are wanna be's. perhaps we dont get as many chances to make jumps as we want yet. for me, i just got my first rig and will now have the chance to go to the DZ when i want and not when I think there will be something to rent.
i'm not gonna write on this much because what 3flier wrote is pretty damn stupid and maybe so is what I'm writing. but hey, just because we like to hang out here and chat with fellow friends doesn't mean that we aren't hardcore cuz we dont live at the DZ.
oh well.....flame on.

I have about 80 jumps, I would have more since the weather is jumpable year round here in Texas. However, since I am a broke college student (read: student loans) I don't get to jump much. The forums here are an outlet for me to hangout with jumpers and I have learned things on the forum.
