Based solely on what I know about things I saw in the movie "Alive", they made some pretty stupid assed choices; deciding that going higher on the mountain was better than going down the mountain for instance. But again, that's just what I got out of the movie and maybe real-life had issues that would have made their choices more logical.

Food as a survival issue, is pretty over rated.

You can generally survive for a couple of weeks without food. They had snow so water shouldn't have been an issue. So why not go down the mountain to where it's warmer, there's more oxygen and probably a far higher likelihood of finding food?

To me, the choices they made in the movie made no sense.

Umm, yep!...BUt some of them you have to eat in the dark.

and Quade...

I didn't think that far into the movie...It sperked more the "what if".

I wasn't concerned that the choices they made were wrong, they had already made it.
I was wondering if I would be on the menu.

The book was somewhat better; they climbed the ridge because there was clearly no exit in the valley below them and they figured they could see farther from the top. (It worked.) They also made some foolish choices of course, but they were a soccer team, not a boy scout troop.

OK...suppose you are doing a heli jump way up inm the mountains somewhere...you and your friend jump out and something happens...anyway its just awful your friend goes in and diesso it's just you there...you are going to die if you don't eat...would you?

Dude, if you die and there isn't any other food around your gonna get eaten. The person is already dead, they won't mind and if it's your buddy he wouldn't mind if it meant you could go on living.

I'm not sure I would have many many of the same decisions they did and I find it hard to believe they actually lived to tell the story, but they did. BTW, its a true story.

What if you were stranded by yourself? Would you cut off and eat small parts?

I have some sweetbreads from a former co-worker in my freezer. I thought there would be thrill seekers all over the dropzone that would like to share a bite. But I didn't get any takers.

This really involves two different topics. Really three. Cannibalism for food, for fun or ritual excitement, and oral sex.

I definitely like the last one even though there is no real natural purpose for it. Maybe as a primitive form of hygiene. Any anthropologists out there?
