Zennie 0 #1 August 15, 2003 Any suggestions on some good new edgy bands out there? I'm getting really bored with what I'm hearing on the radio these days. I've heard a few people say that there are some good Norwegian Death Metal bands out there. Sounds interesting & different. Any suggestions? - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon
AggieDave 6 #2 August 15, 2003 Quotegood Norwegian Death Metal bands Sorry, that made me laugh. I've been visiting some of my old favorites recently. Listening to a lot of Rammstein, for one, some older Korn and stuff like that. Have you ever heard of a band called "The Fucking Champs"? I think you'd like them, they're not very known, but their music is cool.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Zennie 0 #3 August 15, 2003 QuoteSorry, that made me laugh. I know it sounds fucked up, but I've watched a few movies where there was some really cool thrash going on in the background and someone said it was a Norwegian band. This has happened a couple of times so I'm curious to check the scene out. - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon
AggieDave 6 #4 August 15, 2003 I've just got this image of the Swedish Cheif in a death metal band...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
FallingMarc 0 #5 August 15, 2003 Hmm... stuff that's not on the radio... I'm a big fan of Thursday and Jets to Brazil... Dream Theater... Flogging Molly... Reggie and the Full Effect is fun... I just went on a major Ben Folds kick, too. Dude's brilliant. M
The111 1 #6 August 15, 2003 Zennie, listen to the new album DeLoused in the Comatorium by the Mars Volta. Not sure what your taste in music is, but if you like any rock at all you are sure to love this. It's probably the most original album to come out all year. As far as death metal, the only bands I've listened to are Dimmu Borgir and Opeth... both fairly good if you're in the right mood.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
AggieDave 6 #7 August 15, 2003 I'm more of a Sepultura fan myself, though. I would say something, but everyone knows of that band...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

FallingMarc 0 #9 August 15, 2003 P.S. Look for Goodbye Boxer's debut album after this winter (hopefully, if we can raise the cash)... [shameless self-promotion]http://www.goodbyeboxer.com[/shameless self-promotion] Marc
AggieDave 6 #10 August 15, 2003 Oh, "Laing" is cool, its a sort of industiral metal. He's a Christian artist, so if you can get past that, but the music is kick ass. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

"Tourniquet" is probably one of the best overtly Christian songs I've heard in a while. - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon

I've heard a few people say that there are some good Norwegian Death Metal bands out there. Sounds interesting & different. Any suggestions? yes, they sound different and certainly they are much better. Bands from Scandinavia makes the best metal music IMO. Here are some of my favorite bands arch enemy, dimmu borgir, nightwish, within temptations, inflames, dark tranquility and children of bodom. they are all from sweden, norway and finland but they sing in english so you wouldnt have any trouble understand them. except for dimmu borgir, some of their older albums are in norwegian for example 'stormblast' and i think their latest album which would be released next month ' death cult armaggeddon' has 2 songs written in norwegain.
