digurman 0 #8 August 14, 2003 Well, I was hoping that once I started skydiving I would be hanging around the dz after a good day of jumping and see people lighting up everywhere. Maybe I've been leaving too early. I had some really good stuff I wanted to share, but I've just about smoked it all now. Pot seems like the perfect come down after skydiving. Can I add a sex story? My wife has never smoked pot, other than a politicians puff or two, but she decided to try it one night after I had made 5 jumps. I was really wired up from the skydiving and we started smoking and then had the best sex since we have ever had - and we have been married since before Windows 3.1. crapflinger2000 1 #10 August 14, 2003 Dude in all honesty I don't think you should be posting this stuff with your profile as specific as it is... Not in terms of YOUR personal info, but you DO list a DZ there that may not appreciate this sort of "publicity" __________________________________________________ What would Vic Mackey do? marcandalysse 0 #11 August 14, 2003 my guess is the usual story.....one day everyone you run into will have a doob in their hand....and you thought they were all soooo straight???? Just like in everyday life.....your boss is probably firing up one now.....and he seems such a buttoned down dweeb at work..... sex and drugs??? hmmm never heard of that before.... marcandalysse 0 #12 August 14, 2003 yea with a name like 'gork mojo' you shouldn't be too specific??? but he did say he DIDN'T see anyone lighting up!

Not in terms of YOUR personal info, but you DO list a DZ there that may not appreciate this sort of "publicity" Chances are, everyone at the DZ already knows. Also, just because he does it, doesn't mean the DZ condones it. He's probably not the first skydiver who smokes pot (is he??) In a world full of people, only some want to fly... isn't that crazy! --Seal

skymama 37 #15 August 14, 2003 It's up to you, but I'm thinking that it might not be a good thing to post about illegal things you do on a public forum that everyone can read and even the Google bots pick up on.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
lazyfrog 0 #16 August 14, 2003 don't forget, the use of drugs is illegal in most countries, and certainly is forbidden before jumping in all... you should stop doing bad things, naughty boy---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT
coconutmonkey 0 #17 August 14, 2003 While you may have seen skydivers as the stereotypical homogeneous group of people, we are in reality a very eclectic group of individuals who bring very different qualities to the sport. Part of the great community we have is the fact that these different backgrounds and lifestyles respect each other when on the DZ for what we share in the love for the sport. This respect also extends to the knowledge that some of our brother and sister divers do not share in the same entertainment as others after the jump is over. How you choose to spend your time after the planes are in the hangar (beer, pool, smokin n’ jokin, playing with explosives) is your choice. Those activities which are explicitly illegal, however, are kept on the need to know basis within that group out of respect for those of us who cannot and will not participate in them due to personal, religious, or professional beliefs and oaths. If you are looking for a group, I’m sure you’ll find it. Just don’t expect the DZ to be like a bad ‘B’ movie and please resect those around you…. Blahr 0 #19 August 14, 2003 Very well said, Thomas. I for one, am a recovering Alcoholic and as such I dont partake of alcohol or any drugs. I do not judge others or tell them how they should live. That said, I would probably be pretty bummed out if everyone started blowing bones at the DZ because I would then have to find a drug free DZ somewhere else. People need to respect the people they jump with and while you may think that it interferes with your peace of mind if I DONT want you firing up that doobie in front of me, I submit to you that it messes with MY peace of mind worse because for me, drugs and alcohol are a serious threat to my life and happiness. Waiting till you get home to fire up isnt a threat to anyone. Do whatever you like in the comfort of your own home. I will still call you friend and jump with you. Like I said, I do not judge. Please dont force me to deal with it at the DZ. Cheers, Chris
Andie787 0 #20 August 14, 2003 Unbelievable levels of paranoia... Big Borther may be watching? Understandable I guess in light of the long prison sentence you could get for holding a joint in your hand. How sad is it that you are so repressed in the land of the free. No sense discussing it but if you think of all the damage alchohol does to families and individuals every year, you wonder why they don't bring back prohibition. It would be for our own good, wouldn't it? Hemp is one of the most useful plants on the planet, but it gets a bad rap. And it should be people's choice whether they want to walk around in a marijuana stupor or not, don't you think? I don't think ANYONE would come out and say you should smoke before you jump. I don't think that's what he was trying to say at all. And a bad "B" movie is EXACTLY what the DZ is like... A.

Blahr 0 #22 August 14, 2003 I think Thomas' main thrust was about respecting other humans. I for one cant find any fault in it. Hey, if someone wants to "walk around in a marijuana stupor" I dont care. Just dont be a nuisance or a danger to your fellow humans. If you get high at the DZ, you are potentially doing both. If your DZ is like a bad B movie, I dont want to go there
