Zeemax 0 #1 August 11, 2003 my excuse was it was a hot day, and i'm blonde... quite a light lift, 3 way head down 3 way flat, 2 way, then little old me. I was going to be last out and the guy sitting next to me said... 'last out?, make sure you close the door' as i've already explained my excuses i dont feel as guilty, but i did sit and think about it for nearly two minutes. I couldn't quite work out how the hell i was going to do it... damn blonde hair.!! Muenkel 0 #8 August 11, 2003 I think he wins browny points for having the guts to admit it and laugh at himself. In this sport, if you can't laugh at yourself, you're in trouble. Great story Zeemax, thanks for sharing it. Chris _________________________________________ Chris
NeedToJump 0 #9 August 11, 2003 I've closed the door behind me a few times when I've been last out doing a solo. The trick is not to try to close it all the way and let go at the right time. One time after getting down the pilot said "Thanks, but please don't do that again" Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
Michele 1 #10 August 11, 2003 While I have never even thought about it at the door - too busy with the blue sky all around me - I have, on occasion, been caught off-guard when the plane has landed with the door open....... And I am not blond.... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Marz 0 #12 August 11, 2003 I have a great video taken by a camera flyer buddy of mine where he's on the strut of a c-182 looking into the plane when the door is closed. He climbed out just a little before jump run and closed the door behind himand filmed. It was cool because he spotted right from the strut after he filmed us. When he bailed, we opened the door and jumped. Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

riddler 0 #19 August 12, 2003 If you've got a camera step and an outside bar, it's not hard. Just make sure to let the pilot know, 'cause it sucks when they think you're gone already and proceed to dive the plane.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. Zeemax 0 #20 August 12, 2003 theres an amusing story about a guy at our DZ. They were jumping the Beaver which for those who dont know is a very quick plane, gets down quicker than those in free fall... anyways, the pilot thinks he saw the last guy get out, when in fact he was just checking the spot. Pilot dives, poor guy becomes stuck to the roof! very funny... Brains 2 #21 August 12, 2003 Quoteits all ok, i know i'm stupid You're not stupid. Our pilot asked me to close the door one early spring afternoon cause it was cold. No problem, got out, closed door, let go of the bar and had a nice dive. No biggie Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
