Renee tried to track it down because an email came in that was infected but thought it was quarantined. Then another description said it could come through mIRC or Kazaa....She only has mIRC for the PUB chat. Any possibility that's where it came in for everyone?Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

falxori 0 #11 August 12, 2003 everybody got it, and microsoft's patch was issued about a month ago. but as usual, no one updates until systems start to crash... btw, my zonealarm blocked it (until i foolishly shut it down to do something else...) sadly, now clones will start to appear, and usually they are smarter than the original O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." Clownburner 0 #12 August 12, 2003 Important safety tip: If you installed the patch AFTER you started getting the error, you may still be infected; go get the removal tool and run it to make sure: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth

GigaBuist 0 #14 August 12, 2003 Quote Then another description said it could come through mIRC or Kazaa....She only has mIRC for the PUB chat. Any possibility that's where it came in for everyone? It comes in through the Windows RPC/DCOM service. Ports 135, 137, 139, 445, and ahhh, something else are ways in. You can't turn them off. All you can do is patch things to keep them up to date and firewall those ports off from any untrusted network.
