SkyDolphin 0 #1 August 8, 2003 Has anyone seen the new TV promo for Tomb Raider? They are talking about the stunts and how great they are and one line goes. "Watch people actually fly like a bird!" and it was said in that breathy really intense tone of voice that TV announcers use. Refering to the BASE / Birdman stunt of course. Malfunction 0 #2 August 8, 2003 havent seen the commercial, but saw the movie. BASE jump with wing suit off 84th floor. Cool view. Supposedly flies 2 miles out to sea and lands on freighter. In all three skydiving scenes, the landings are just TOO smooth, and they get rid of the gear WAY TOO FAST. Otherwise, they are kick ass sequences! I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it. - Voltaire
Casie 0 #3 August 8, 2003 Did you like the movie overall? I've seen the promo & look forward to seeing it!~Porn Kitty WARNING: Goldschlager causes extreme emotional outbursts!
Malfunction 0 #4 August 8, 2003 Holy sh!t...I liked the movie. Then again, any movie Angelina Jolie wears skin tight clothing is a good time! It was more of an action/adventure than the first. I liked it a lot better than the first. I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it. - Voltaire
Casie 0 #5 August 8, 2003 Thanx for the info I've been hearing really good reviews about it!~Porn Kitty WARNING: Goldschlager causes extreme emotional outbursts!
Malfunction 0 #6 August 8, 2003 just so you know, the first movie was great for kids, but this one is not. It gets rather scary towards the end, so if you have kids 10 and under, they may not like it too well. billvon 3,079 #8 August 8, 2003 > BASE jump with wing suit off 84th floor. Saw the movie, and it looked like a BASE jump with a normal jumpsuit, then a quick cut to a skydive with wingsuits and a long lens. You could see the birdman logo before they exited, which was cool. Zenister 0 #10 August 9, 2003 Quote You could see the birdman logo before they exited, which was cool. but only the skyflier logo and it was pretty distorted...i was actually annoyed that all the gear except the suits had no markings whatsoever, and yet other useless stuff was everywhere..i know product placement is a huge business, but it almost seemed like they went out of their way to remove any product labels that hadnt 'paid up' no matter how important they were to the stunt..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. I'm pretty sure the wingsuit footage was an actual base jump from that building as well.. though i've been known to be wrong.
NeedToJump 0 #15 August 9, 2003 QuoteIn all three skydiving scenes, the landings are just TOO smooth, and they get rid of the gear WAY TOO FAST. Otherwise, they are kick ass sequences! Yeah, I thought the skydiving scenes were pretty cool, but after they landed on the ship the next scene shows them in the same place but without any of their gear on. No sign of rigs or canopies. And the scene where she lands on the moving car was kind of silly. She approached in half breaks doing moving faster than it and when she cut away you saw one side go and then the other. Oh well, good effort. At least her outfits were nice Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
adamjenner 0 #16 August 10, 2003 haha yeah i laughed at that..."people actually fly" i think someone was like "no they're just falling slowly moron" haha i laughed. i haven't seen the movie though...i don't recon i will.
KawiZX900 0 #17 August 10, 2003 good film, joke at the very end killed the overall feel of it though. As far as the commercial goes, good press is better than bad press, and bad press is better than no press.... Accelerate hard to get them looking, then slam on the fronts and rollright beside the car, hanging the back wheel at eye level for a few seconds. Guaranteed reaction- Dave Sonsky
