Design Idea for Website

Recommended Posts

Hi
I have decided to do a personal website, and have come up with a design, which I would like your opinion on - esp those of you that are in the field / with a more artistic eye.
Please let me know what you think - whether it needs more/less etc ...
Constructive critisism is welcome.
( I have made quality less in order to keep size down)
Peace Be Da Journey

Nice composition! I'm not crazy about the background color though.

It shouldn't match. Its should contrast, which it does very well.

I'm not saying it needs to match exactly, but the colors need to have the same tones. If you don't, it just looks pukey. All it would take would be to take it up or down a notch, like on those big color wheels that they have at the paint store.

But they do. Both the blue and the burgandy share a common color... Blue--Personally my favorite color. The blue is really a purplish blue. While not perfect complementary colors according to the color wheel, they are actually very close. Probably off by less than a color. Its original... its not purple/yellow or blue/orange.

Plus, with the addition of the white. The 3rd color helps to offset the slight imbalance of the other two.

I still think its SaaaWEEEEET! ;)

I like the design, but the red looks more of a brownish-red. I'd make the red a little bit more red - but stay with a blue-based red.

Uh huh....thank-you!

What you will discover is that some people who have artistic taste value blend over contrast. Others prefer contrasting colors over blend. Its not that either are wrong, just biased.

Then there are those who have NO artistic taste whatsoever (like I have no musical ear)

BTW - I like your tribal design. I prefer blends so I'd tone down the background color if it were mine, bust as I said before ... to each his own. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, the shade of the burgandy doesn't really match the shade of the blue.

i agree with mama, although the word she is looking for is 'complementary' means the same thing in color matching as anything else, but the blue is too 'cool' for the burgandy. need one with more red undertones and it will 'contrast' nicely.

of course dave is right too. since next to no one but graphic designers& photographer types takes the time to color correct their monitors..

otherwise the design is very clean..not bad at all..just watch how you place your feilds and buttons, so you dont ruin the effect.
