crapflinger2000 1 #26 July 29, 2003 OK, I hate to sound like some sort of trivia weirdo, but is that R Lee Ermy (the Full Metal Jacket DI guy) playing a helicopter pilot in that Apocalypse Now scene? Sounds just like him and looks a little bit like him too... __________________________________________________ What would Vic Mackey do?

mnischalke 0 #32 July 29, 2003 Yep. That was R. Lee Ermey. He was a Marine staff sergeant and spent 10 or 11 years in the Corps before being forced out by an injury in Vietnam. He was, in fact, a DI at MCRD San Diego, 3rd Bn., India Co. from 65-67. After he got out of the USMC, he was studying drama at a university in the Philippines, using his G.I. Bill. Coppola happened to be filming Apocalypse Now in the Philippines, met and cast Ermey as the helo pilot. His film and tv career was launched at that point. Maybe more than you wanted to know, but I think it's a cool story. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills. Rebecca 0 #34 July 29, 2003 I think it should reflect your outlook on life, who you are, and perhaps the state of your mental health. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
