Muenkel 0 #1 May 26, 2003 I am not directing this at any particular person. So the person I am in a PM conversation with right now should not feel this is prompted by them. For the past week or so, I have found many of our dz.com friends going through some kind of hardship, whether it be injury, depression, general malaise, surgery, and especially the grief of losing a friend. I have learned this through pm's as well as reading the forums. It's ironic, because right at this moment, many of our friends are having a blast at various boogies across the country. I guess what I am trying to say, is if you don't hear from someone in a while, reach out to them. Send them a pm and ask how they are doing. If while reading posts, you sense the person is bumming about something, reach out to them. Lend some encouraging words. Even if they are not a person you normally would talk to or even know. This may sound nutty to some, but my instincts are usually pretty good on these matters. I guess what I am trying to say is to be more aware, read between the lines and perhaps go outside your normal circle. You'd be surprised what a simple hello can do for someone. Like every community, you have your popular ones and your shy, stay in the background ones. But noone is better than anyone else. I have found this community is usually pretty good at reaching out, but I think we would be surprised how many fall through the cracks. Just something to think about. Blue skies, Chris

But noone is better than anyone else. You are so exactly right, Chris. And for those who ever need an ear, mine is always here. I may not be very good at skydiving, but I know I can listen, and hold your hand as you walk an uneven path. As you have supported me through righteously rough times, cried with me, laughed with me, loved me through crisis, and remain here for me, I am here for you... hugs to those who need it, love to those who need it, and joy for everyone. moodyskydiver 0 #10 May 26, 2003 Thanks for this thread. I know I've lost touch with people I used to talk to regularly. I also have a few people who just drop in to say "hi and hows your life?" every now and then and its always a welcome surprise. Its amazing how much a simple gesture can give someone a smile. katiebear21 0 #11 May 26, 2003 Well said, Chris. Believe it or not you guys have kept me going over here. Ya'll keep me motivated and entertained. I've told Sangiro several times what a great thing he's done by bringing us all together. And like Michele said, after actually getting to put a face to the names at the first boogie that just solidified the friendships that had begun online! You guys have spoiled me with energy bars, starbucks, biscotti, breakfast bars, foot scruby stuff, massage tools, puzzles, pictures, dvd's, homemade videos, cd's, melted chocolate, easter bunnies, t-shirts, stickers, a closing-pin necklace, pm's, and good old fashioned letters. I am truly spoiled! I LOVE YOU MAN!!! Katie Get your PMS glass necklace here

If not for the support and love from all the .comers, i don't think i would've made it through my recovery so far. Ended up in the ER again earlier today due to complications from this surgery. I just want it to be over, but i sooo appreciate all you peeps being here for me. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
