Weekend Numbers 7/26-27

Recommended Posts

600+: 0: 0

600+ - Number of miles I put on my cycle this weekend. Went to the Summer Twister Cycle Rally for Vietnam Vets in Birnamwood, WI. Did a ton of riding hence the numbers in the next 2 columns.

It was a great weekend (despite not jumping). Beautiful country...lots of green....no phones (cell didn't work in that area)....tons of relaxation. :)

I only got one jump in on Thursday. A nice sit fly jump with Murphy. She was wondering in free fall why I was sit flying with the soles of my feet together. So she started doing it. Luckily she had on pants that didn't create much drag so I could stay with her. :S :D I learned from my experience last time out and smartly decided to land on the other side of the runway.
Spent Friday helping a friend move some furniture. Had a very good time Friday night at a "friend's" house. B| I was on "standby" all Saturday afternoon so I just hung around the house. Saturday night was a fun time spent with drunken flight attendants. Sunday....recovery day. Off to work again tomorrow.

Not quite weekend numbers, but close enough.

2:5:1

2 orders of monkeyfries w/chicken
5 jumps (including one w/SM-1)
1 first jump in Raeford and in a C-182

Spent a quiet Thursday at Raeford and made 5/11 loads after the clouds cooperated. Had a few beers and a Red Bull and crashed in the MonkeyBago. Thanks Chuck, Tony and everyone else from Raeford. I'm definitely going to try to stop by on my drive south.

1* Converted one skydiver to the Birdman Flock(Dale) our own chicken man and his chicken helmet which looks totaly cool in the air while flying Birdman. Not to mention how hilarious it was to watch him do the chicken dance in the Otter before we bailed.

10 most smack booty Birdman jumps, had a little flock of 3 going between dale, :ph34r:lip and myself and one most memorable Flock with sky:ph34r:one, :ph34r:lip on the sunset load. I think we set a new farthest distance flown by a flock of Birdmen. Distance hasn't been confirmed but it's safe to say that it was WAY WAY OUT there. We totally punched it out and flew our asses off. Oh yeah, I flew the otter again several loads, way cool:D

1 case of beer paid for continuing a swoop outside the swoop lane. I'm innocent I tell you, I was just moving outside of the lane so others could swoop;)

I was at the DZ from 7 am to 9 pm on Saturday. We had a First Jump class and I ended up packing over 15 student rigs, and I was working to get cleared to radio students. I made one hop n pop from a tandem load. Felt good. ;)

I love weekends like this. I didn't get to jump much, but we were turning student loads and tandems like crazy. This is the stuff that keeps our DZ open and people like you and me jumping!!!! ;)

Well, as usual on the first :|

But 3 jumps on Saturday, including one with Jessica. She'd said she might be there, and I was distressed when I announced for Jessicakes over the PA and no one came running... Then when I was packing from what I thought was my last jump, she came up. So a NICE 9-way from 10,500 (fading light), with flying wedges that were probably the best flying wedges. Coolio!!

8 seconds playing with the casa after leaving:10:Beer is good B|

Birdman rocks... I got 2 more to join the flock this week. Thats 5 in 3 weeks  I can't leave my suit on the ground unprotected for more then about 2 minutes before some one comes up and "borrows" it anymore :S 5 tandems, 4 birdy flights, 1 sit jump.

Flight times are still in the 85-95 second range. I'm having too much fun diving with the casa as soon as I exit. I'm staying able to see in the cock pit for 6-8 seconds anymore B|

It was one interesting tandem that reminded me that I need to be way ahead of the ball on a tandem and just staying on the curve is'nt enough on a tandem.

Edit for a pic of me getting the swoop on... B|

1!: Got my dad to go to Raeford with me on Saturday. He's not ready for a tandem yet but I'm glad he got to meet many of the people out there. He was impressed. I got on a load while he was there and managed a stand up landing for his videocam :).

I may have had something to do with this :$. Perhaps I should more rapidly execute my five-count before exiting the aircraft?

Yes, I know it is snowing.
No, we are not putting the top up.

No humps ... :S

Thirteen jumps ... :)

I almost owed beer for doing my first headdown freefly carve with another skydiver, but the other more experienced jumper told me that I need to work on driving more. :o

Well, this is awesome news. I had several people tell me that it was Sept 1st. You don't know how you have just brightened the rest of my week. :)

Just remember that comment when you see me some day, smile and hug.

OK, a flash and a grope would be nice too, but I'll settle for the hug.
