Kobe WILL be charged for sexual assault.

Recommended Posts

Well, don't deprecate your sex, your opinion is as valid as the next guy's. ;)

However, I still maintain that this case is none of our business until it is proven that Kobe did something illegal.

Ok, I hadn't gone into this yet, but the "victim" get's protection in the form of anonymity, but what about the potentially falsely accused? There's absolutely no protection for him.

absolutely right darling. innocent until proven guilty. not saying anything to the contrary.

sucks for him that he's the celebrity and she can hide behind non-celeb status.

however false allegations are not as common as one would think. she has to know going in that she will be put in the public eye AND put under the microscope since he has such a sparkling reputation.

If it were going to come down to nothing but he said/she said, the DA wouldn't bother pressing charges.

Do you really think that's how the justice system works?

For this kind of an accusation, I know it's how it works. They'll have to have something to offer a jury besides the testimony of the alleged victim. Since they are going ahead with the charge, I presume they have that something.;)

Well, let's assume they have DNA of him from inside her body.

What exactly does that prove other than they had sex?

It still comes down to he said / she said unless they can prove he forced her. Since she went up to the room willingly at a rather odd hour of the night . . . I dunno . . . they're going to have to do a lot of proving.

To my way of thinking and looking at the timeline of events it sure looks to me like somebody had second thoughts after the fact and then got greedy.

Then the police got involved and the DA saw a chance to get some publicity.

Something about this case just doesn't smell right.

Generally speaking, bodily fluids found inside her body wouldn't prove or disprove anyone's story, but if they were found elsewhere, on a pillow, in the couch fabric, etc., that might just make somebody a liar.

When someone tells a story, and it conflicts with another person's story, forensics can often prove someone is lying.

Interesting that someone who doesn't believe in God or the bible, and who has openly bashed them in other threads, seeks to quote something here from that source. ;)

All the debating over adultery aside, the guy's been charged with first degree sexual assault. Which sounds to me like a polite celebrity version of rape, the particulars of the charge allege there was penetration and that it was forced. The issue that is the public's business is whether or not he is guilty of a violent felony. The adultery crap can be sorted out by a higher authority another day.

Lots of people commit the sin of adultery without committing the crime of rape. Sounds to me like Kobe's on the "recovery" bandwagon now, a book and guest spots on all the talk shows should follow.

It will be up to the DA to prove the charges to a jury. I don't think the woman would put herself through the humiliation of the whole process unless the charges were true. Guess we'll just see what shakes loose. But if he's guilty, lock him up. Just spare us the stories of all the soull searching and "hard look at himself" that he's going through, save that crap for Jerry Springer.

The facts are he did cheat on his wife. Now did he rape her or not is the issue. If he did not have sex with this women he would not be in this situation.

Chances are that there are people working for you right now who are engaged in adultery. (If you employ alot of people) You'll may never find out about it.

I got to agree with whocares here. Take away a person's possessions and really the only thing that he/she has that is truly their own is their word and integrity. If you can't keep your word then you have nothing. I'm surprised there are many that feel otherwise because in skydiving we deal so much in trust - trust in the packers, trust in the riggers, the airplane mechanics, the pilots... Maybe there are degrees of keeping your word - I don't know. I just know that when you marry someone, you give your word to (supposedly) the most important person in your life. If you can't keep and stand by that, then I sure as hell don't want you representing me to the world.

Well if he did this i hope they throw the book at him. Getting sick of celbs thinking they are above the law

I agree with you. Celebrities now a day feel they can do as they please because they have $$. Its sad on the same note since they are often sought as heroes, or idols and their actions really have an impact on the youth today. Its funny how money can't buy happiness, but it can buy a get out of jail card. I mean, anyone know what happened with
R. Kelly? I just hink its all trash:(
