VivaHeadDown 0 #10 April 14, 2003 *geek knit-picking alert* watching the trailer from the first clicky in this post, it looks like two different scenes edited together. First you have the jump from the building (running in a wing suit, bwahahaha) in baggy look-alike suit (note no actual webbing between legs or arms/body). Then there is the freefall, which appears high up but with one of those deep focus cameras. Very cool, but still not as cool as the BASE from the car in XXX. If I'm wrong, well, bite-me. ''But because of insurance, they didn't let me do certain things,'' she says. ''That upset me.'' Anyone jumped with her? I searched, so I don't think this has been posted... you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
riddler 0 #12 July 24, 2003 QuoteJolie, an accomplished sky diver, K - if she's a jumper, my g/f needs to know where. She's a big, BIG fan I have a feeling that she jumps at that same DZ where Ricky Martin and all those other skydiving celebrities jump.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. Raefordite 0 #13 July 24, 2003 Yep - the scene is cool. We are using it to market Raeford Parachute Center. Our very own, Chuck Blue will be at the movie theater Friday night in his birdman suit. Expected crowd is over 10,000 for a cinema 15 theater. Will be giving away a tandem. Plus local radio station and car dealership will be there as well! Use the media to promote your DZ!!! pyke 0 #14 July 24, 2003 Well, I can attest to Ricky Martin's skydiving... ...but he doesn't STILL do it - that I know of! While on tour through New Zealand in 2000, his Auckland concert got rained out one night...and destroyed some equipment. So, while waiting for that equipment to arrive - they spent the day at Mercer Skydiving Center, just south of the city. He did 2 (count them...2) tandems in one day - and some of his entourage did some as well. One of the tech crew did the first 3 levels of AFF, but that was about it. So, aside from that - I would love to know what makes these celebrities "accomplished" skydivers...what did they accomplish?? World Record?? State Record?? Leaving the airplane?? It's kind of like Leo DiCaprio's bio that says he's a skydiver....with all of one tandem!!! Anyway - too funny!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. goose491 0 #17 July 24, 2003 Funny article... some favorite passages: "Just a weird yellow suit with silk sewn between the legs and along the arms to create wings." Silk eh? "The suits are intended only for low-altitude jumps.." Hmmmm. They talk about how the actors had to run in the suits and it looked funny... What seems funny to me is that it appears that they are wearing RW suits while running off the edge... am I mistaken? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! Nope not mistaken. they did a bunch of jumps.. the one you see is a base jump without the wingsuit then you see them flying with the wingsuits. :) Also the pictures I saw of angelina show the leg straps are misrouted (on the outside of the suit). Curious if that made it into the movie..
riddler 0 #19 July 24, 2003 QuoteThey had fun Well, if having fun on a tandem means you are an accomplished skydiver, then I must be really accomplished, since I had fun on all of my 180 jumps, even though they almost never go like I want them to Hmm - I wonder what a celebrity PR firm could do for my resume? Rebecca 0 #23 July 24, 2003 Found this excerpt... I'm guessing he's licensed! TALK: And has she seen you work recently? CRUISE: [In Mission: Impossible 2] I'm hanging by my feet.... It's a scene where I'm rappelling down the cliff - I think it's about 100 feet off the ground, and I go straight down into the camera; you see my face bounce this close... My mother came and watched me do that. I can still hear her: [Falsetto] "Oh, sweet Lord Jesus! Sweet Lordy Jesus." [Laughs] She stood up, and she stayed for a couple of takes - she was having an absolute heart attack! But she's always up for anything. Like when I was doing Days of Thunder and I brought her skydiving; she has that sense of - TALK: You took your mother skydiving? CRUISE: Yeah. I didn't tell you this? TALK: You took your mother skydiving. CRUISE: Yeah. [Grinning] I videotaped the whole thing: took her to the airport, we went up and I skydived with her, and I came down and I kissed her. Then I said, "Don't tell the girls we went skydiving; I'm just going to send them the tape." [Laughs] And, of course, my sisters shit themselves when they saw it. They went nuts; they loved it. That's my mother. She has that great sense of adventure in her life. That sense of adventure... Maybe that's one of the things that I got from her. Change is okay. Have fun. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
