Just wondering, because one of my mates said I was a weirdo for taking the third magazine back, after flicking through the one on the front of the display.

It would probably depend on what type of magazine, book and DVD store you were in. I'll just leave it at that.

I'd take the one further back. I do the same thing for other items like electronics or appliances.

For instance, if I wanted to buy a toaster, I'd play with the ones on display until I found one I liked. Then find the boxes and pick one from the back or the one least beat up.

I don't really count, I just reach back for the "look-new" copies and grab one. 2 or 3 or 8 back...it don't really matter as long as it's FRESH and has not been stained by other people.
