Ok,Let's see who knows their '80s glam bands

Recommended Posts

Here is a quote from the album jacket of a '80s glam band. One of the song's off this albun recieved a bit of air play and vid play on mtv.Name the band and album.

From velvet night came forth,
Our torch burns eternal,
For Time is but a dream,
and our mischief be infernal.

Black Angels watch over,
Neglecting the living but not the Undead,
Blessed are the hallowed and gracious
For their blood shall keep us fed.

Hark the electric thunder,
drawn like moths to a Flame,
to a place of Wicked Wonder
. . . And Hollywood be they name.

It was LA GUNS, Phil Lewis was the dandy Brit who fronted them.

Oh yeah, I don't remember that song... but I do remember seeing those guys at a club (The Back Room) in Austin, TX, back in 1990 I think... pretty hot stuff back then. ;)

Hey I wouldn't mind if the metal glam look came back in style... those boys all looked hot back then with all the makeup and teased hair and tight leather pants - isn't that what rock-n-roll's all about? >:( (Motely Crue from the "Shout at the Devil" album - I drooled over that album cover for a LONG time ;-)

No comments... omg, where where you guys in the 80s??????

I was born in 1980 and was not allowed by my ever so protective parents to listen to such corruptive noise. That is why I listen to it now!
Overprotective parents lead to rebellious children!;)

The Back Room is still an awesome place to see some really great bands; I have an old friend who plays there a lot, and I've seen a lot of really great players there over the past 5 years or so...

Man, now I've gotta bust out all my old 80's tapes... Dirty Looks, Faster Pussycat, Smashed Gladys, The Headpins, Hanoi Rocks, Dangerous Toys, LA Guns, Motley Crue, Guns-n-Roses... >:(

Oh and PhillyKev: I liked some of the thrash stuff too ;-) (old Metallica, Megadeth, M.D.C., M.O.D. - were they the same as S.O.D.?)

SOD, MOD, and Anthrax overlapped pretty heavily in their members.

S.O.D. was formed as a hardcore side-project for Scott Ian and Charlie Benante of Anthrax. With Billy Milano as front man.

M.O.D. was simply Billy Milano's offshoot of S.O.D.
