That was not the subject of the thread. And I find the matter worth discussing. Overloading the Judicial system and jails with smal time scumbacks does not do good for anyone. Least of all to the punks themselves. Maybe one good fatherly whipping would set the arrows straight.

That is true. I admit that the title of this thread is intentionally provocative, but the essence is not. The youth crime rates in countries that allow the physical punishments for these youngsters is marginal if compared to so called civilized society.

I fail to see what is the connection to voting or dictatorship.

What I see though, is number of hard headed youth, that could not care less if they get probation or not.

The cycle will start and lead into life time imprisonments (three strikes and you are out- style)
for persons who could possible have been saved.

So what is worse, a little fear of authority in time, or lifetime behind the bars.
