MochaSkyChick 0 #1 July 9, 2003 I have my first skydive photo that was taken from a video shot but it has a bit of a grainy quality. I was wondering if there was any program I could use to smooth it out. I’ve tried resizing and working with it in PaintShop but can’t really get a better quality. Any suggestions? The photo is hilarious because I had the fear of God in my face and you never would have thought that I'd still be jumping after that pic. So, I would really like to blow it up and frame it but I’d like to get at least a 1024 x 768 quality out of it. Is this possible? Push 0 #2 July 9, 2003 How grainy is it, really? There are a few filters you could apply, but they can only do so much. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.
BlueEyedMonster 0 #3 July 9, 2003 There is not much you can do for grainy. Any filter or process that would fix the graininess will just blur the fine lines and edges.

bch7773 0 #6 July 9, 2003 for the most part, stills taken from video usually are grainy, and they stay grainy. I think this is the reason video guys have actual cameras on their head, because taking stills off the video and printing them up doesn't work very well. For instance, my avatar is a still from a video, but the reason its so small is because when I enlarge it any bigger, it gets grainy. anyways, try messing around with it in photoshop, but I don't think you can get it to 1024x768... p.s. post the photo.... we wanna see! freeflyfrog 0 #7 July 9, 2003 I'm not sure what resolution digital cameras are set to, but I am quite certain that you won't get an image at 1024 x 768 quality out of it. There's just not enough "info" there for you to blow it up that large...
MochaSkyChick 0 #8 July 9, 2003 Quotep.s. post the photo.... we wanna see! Weeelllll....It's pretty scary and I would want the first photo people on DZ.com see of me is absolute terror. Nevertheless, I might as well because it would definitely be good for a laugh. I'll have to post it and a normal photo once I get back to the hotel this afternoon. Seriously, you should be proud of that picture. Not many people get that scared and don't run away. What you need is a 'now' picture so you can show before and after.
