My First Skydive pic - How to up the quality

Recommended Posts

I have my first skydive photo that was taken from a video shot but it has a bit of a grainy quality. I was wondering if there was any program I could use to smooth it out. I’ve tried resizing and working with it in PaintShop but can’t really get a better quality. Any suggestions?

The photo is hilarious because I had the fear of God in my face and you never would have thought that I'd still be jumping after that pic. So, I would really like to blow it up and frame it but I’d like to get at least a 1024 x 768 quality out of it. Is this possible?

How grainy is it, really? There are a few filters you could apply, but they can only do so much.

Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.

for the most part, stills taken from video usually are grainy, and they stay grainy. I think this is the reason video guys have actual cameras on their head, because taking stills off the video and printing them up doesn't work very well.

For instance, my avatar is a still from a video, but the reason its so small is because when I enlarge it any bigger, it gets grainy.

anyways, try messing around with it in photoshop, but I don't think you can get it to 1024x768... [:/]

p.s. post the photo.... we wanna see!

Weeelllll....It's pretty scary and I would want the first photo people on DZ.com see of me is absolute terror.:D:D Nevertheless, I might as well because it would definitely be good for a laugh. I'll have to post it and a normal photo once I get back to the hotel this afternoon.

Here is the picture on which I was trying to up the quality......OK, you can stop laughing now. I know it's not exactly the poster child for skydiving. :D

But look how much love skydiving now. I just need to get some newer skydiving pics to compare to this one.

No seriously, you can stop laughing now. :D:D

Ya know, the more you jump and the better you get, the funnier and funnier that photo is going to be.

That's priceless.

I know. I didn't even knew the photo was being passed around my DZ until around my level 5. A guy came up to me and was like, "You look familiar....OH MY GOD, you're the girl from the photo!" :D:D:D

bwaaahhhaaahhhaaahahhaha!!! That's classic! I love it. The dogs are looking at me quizzically wondering what's so funny. Too bad they can't see 2-dimensional.

Seriously, you should be proud of that picture. Not many people get that scared and don't run away. What you need is a 'now' picture so you can show before and after. Hang both up in the student area as inspiration to them.

Way too funny. I completely agree that it's priceless, and will get more and more priceless with jumps that you make. I think you need to become an instructor eventually, just so you can show off that picture.

I, of course, was never scared (NOT)

It's the best addiction a person could have...

Well there's skydiving, wind tunnel and beer, how to choose which is the best, hmmm.....

I LOVE that pic :D:D

Here's one from my first jump, nothing like yours, but you can definitely see that "oh sh*t" look and if you look really closely you can see the addiction starting
