bbarnhouse 0 #1 July 13, 2003 Someone stole DanBC's rig at Perris over the week-end. Check it out in our stolen gear data base. To whomever took the rig... For shame! BB

RevJim 0 #4 July 13, 2003 Find 'em, then string 'em up by the nuts (or nips, depending...) Bigger DZ's are nice, but remember, it's easier for the rif-raf to blend in too. It's your life, live it! sundevil777 102 #6 July 13, 2003 Know what I would like to read more about? Stories about thieving bastards who get caught with the stolen gear! If stories of this type are common, then it will serve as a deterrent. Of course this is dependent on how often the bastards get caught, but every instance should be publicized GREATLY. I can only remember hearing about one instance in 23 years of someone getting busted. Surely there must be happening more often? USPA and other organizations/websites devote time/space/resources to publicizing the thefts. It is high time to see the same devoted to making potential thieves think twice before doing it! For every successful bust, riggers everywhere will also be more likely to check gear against the stolen databases, therefore success will feed upon itself. Let's get our national organizations to push this! Come on everyone, what do you think?People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
Michele 1 #7 July 13, 2003 Geeeeeeeeshhhhhhhh.... What an idiot! I mean, come on - Dan BC's rig??? It's so identifiable. Fucker. Whomever did this, they are a fucker. (and no, that's not a personal attack, that's the truth! Of all the folks I know...Dan BC is truly an asset to this sport and the epitome of a champion. To have someone disrespect him in such a way, just irkes me to no end. Deuce 1 #9 July 13, 2003 If the thief shows up on any DZ where I am at, I will use whatever force I deem necessary to detain them while I contact the local police. It will require a trip to the ER. Return the gear now.
Michele 1 #10 July 13, 2003 Quote It will require a trip to the ER. Return the gear now. Ditto. And since I've been on these bizarre medications for the hives, I've been itching for a fight... bbarnhouse 0 #11 July 13, 2003 I'll make it easy... If you are out there and are reading this, you may return the gear to me at Skydive Arizona or to Dan at Perris Valley NO questions asked. You can even send it COD. Just send it! BB
sundevil777 102 #12 July 13, 2003 I sure hope he never has or will in the future sell a rig so easily identifiable. Or maybe now he never will be able to sell a rig of his! You'd have to get a new mudflap installed. andy2 0 #14 July 13, 2003 stealing someone's rig is just plain wrong, no matter who the person is. Its such a violation of privacy in such a close knit community. Push 0 #19 July 13, 2003 My first reaction is @$#%&^@$@%! My second reaction is what could that person possibly be thinking? Word of this will get around immediately. The moment anyone jumps it there will be a band of angry skydivers waiting on the landing area. b^2, please tell me that he has a backup rig? I know how much he trains and coaches. If even one beginner cannot get coached by Dan because of this asshat it will be an unrecoverable loss. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. mouth 0 #25 July 13, 2003 There were so many people there for the big way camp that it would be hard to say who was a regular and who didn't belong. I understood Dan left the rig out on the packing area while he went into the Bombshelter only to find it gone upon his return. It is a sad day when we can no longer trust one of our own. I wonder if they can pull the manifest list for that day and contact everyone just as a "reminder" that it is missing and maybe they picked up more than their stuff. Yes, I realize if you have an extra rig in your stuff you'd know it, but I'm actually trying to be nice. Dan seemed like a nice guy who would forgive anyone if they just return his gear. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
