ickleFish 0 #1 July 7, 2003 I'm just about to take a trip to Canada for 7 weeks (yay...), but need to get some travel insurance that covers skydiving, and I'm having trouble finding any. If anyone from the UK could help me out....let me know where you get insurance from....it would be really useful right now. Thanks

I got a worldwide annual policy earlier this year with AXA for (I think £93) - NB make sure you take the dangerous sports cover option! http://www.axatravel.co.uk/ they were about half the price of Harrison Beaumont http://www.hbinsurance.co.uk/ who I had always used previously. There was a good article recently in Skydive Mag about insurance: http://www.zct.co.uk/skydivemag/pages/articles/feb03/itwonthappen.htm which also gives some other options. hth! skreamer 1 #3 July 7, 2003 Ditto that, I switched to Axa from H&B this year as well. Excellent price and an established company.
mcuk 0 #4 July 7, 2003 You could also try Endsleigh Insurance And take the policy that covers extreme sports (I think you have to name the sport but it covers unlimited no. of jumps)
Zeemax 0 #5 July 7, 2003 without even a shadow of a doubt, columbus direct. I always use them for all travel insurance, snowboarding skydiving etc. It's all online and takes about 5mins. Really good coverage with really cheap premiums. You need sports option 4 to cover skydiving if i remeber correctly I dont work for them before you ask, just think they rock the addy is.. http://www.columbus-direct.co.uk/Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
mcuk 0 #6 July 7, 2003 It appears that Columbus (at that level 4 thing) only covers 2 jumps.....Not much use for a 'skydiver' !!
ickleFish 0 #7 July 7, 2003 Thanks for all the replies, AXA look pretty good, and I'll take another look at Endsleigh aswell. Checked Columbus, but as mentioned, only seems to cover two jumps. Cheers

vt1977 0 #11 July 7, 2003 I’d heard about the two jump limit on the Columbus Policy as well. From what I remember of it, it applies to new policies taken out but I guess call and check if in any doubt! Vicki

Zeemax 0 #13 July 7, 2003 SHIT ! no fair i usd to use columbus direct for everything, and the fact they covered skydiving was a major bonus. Just phoned them and it's true. 2 Jump maximum. I laughed at the poor guy on the other end. Very sympathetic, but sadly a wuffo. He asked 'why on earth would you want to make more than 2 jumps?' i replied 'it had nothing to do with being on the earth...' anyways, long and the short, their underwriters have brought in the new rule. He didn't know why, but thought it may have had something to do with more claims. Chah, as if... vt1977 0 #14 July 7, 2003 Unlucky Try AXA - their dangerous sports cover seems to cover pretty much everything and like I say the annual worldwide policy was only £93ish. Vicki
mcuk 0 #15 July 7, 2003 Yep...i have done some research and AXA is coming out tops...(as far as multi trip goes) Basically...Endsleigh insurance is good but only for single trip (fully comprehensive covering skydiving). For multiple trips however it came out with some ridiculous amount of money....Like £580 hahah It pays to check all the details of the insurance though...i.e. what amount of money do you get (i.e.personal accident cover)
