HighJB 0 #3 January 4, 2012 No idea I just had a contact by mail with the seller. Was there some concerns with the XF1 ?ça passe ou ça frotte

I hated it. Unpredictable (and often hard) openings, short recovery arc. Sold it to a guy in Russia who liked them. I now have a Crossfire 2 109 and it's a MUCH better canopy. Only bad thing about it is the on-heading performance, which doesn't matter to me too much since I mostly do video nowadays. But if you are doing bigways it's an issue. HighJB 0 #9 January 4, 2012 Thank you for the feed back. It"s the first time I hear a XFire has hard openings which is for me a real issue. I heard the xf1 was snivelling more than the xf2 I read a lot of the links suggested by Remster (Thnx - I feel ashamed for forgetting to use the function at first). I'll check SN and production location (I guess Spain ) to see if it was listed in the recall campaign. The short recovery arc is an issue for me (learning to swoop). For the on heading performance of the Xf2 i have the same experience (I m not doing bigways anyway). I checked as well my FB friends and I don't have search and google as a friend ça passe ou ça frotte

riggerrob 643 #12 January 5, 2012 Any Crossfire 1 should have been re-lined a long time ago - unless it sat in a closet. Re-lining should solve the trim problem with the Crossfire 1s made by Precision Aerodynamics, back in ...... er .... um ... more than five years ago. I still reline dozens of them every year. One customer put over 3500 jumps on one canopy before I made him retire it. HighJB 0 #15 January 5, 2012 Yes it has been relined already. The price difference is a good argument to buy the Xfire1ça passe ou ça frotte

Mine does like to do a little left turn after it is opened but with a slight harness turn it is adjusted pretty easily. Is this what you are referring 2? I have jumped a few other canopies.... not as many as you I'm sure but my xfire2 I'd say opens on heading more than not. oh it's a 149. Rob P.s. good article in Parachutist this month Bill! billvon 3,071 #17 January 5, 2012 >Mine does like to do a little left turn after it is opened but with a slight harness turn it >is adjusted pretty easily. Is this what you are referring 2? No, it often takes off and does anywhere from a 180 to a 360 _during_ the opening. Once it's open it's fine. I have about a hundred videos that end with a panoramic sweep of 360 degrees of sky (which has actually on occasion come in useful!) >P.s. good article in Parachutist this month Bill! Thanks, it took a lot of back and forth to agree on the edits.
