I'll be in Minnesota...

Recommended Posts

From July 1st through the 7th...

I'll be there visiting my GF's family and stuff so... I guess I plan to cruise over to Skydive Hutchinson (sp?) on the 5th (a Saturday). Anyone care? Anyone? Bueller?B|

According to my "schedule";) I may be able to cruise out to the DZ maybe on the 2nd and 3rd too, though it's in the middle of the week...

Where in Minnesota are you going to be? Skydive Twin Cities is in Baldwin, WI located about 40 miles east of Minneapolis. Skydive Hutchinson is West of the cities.

Both have good people and good facilities. I'm jealous, I need to go home.

Well I believe I'll be on the outskirts of Minneapolis...

Since I know jack about that part of the country I guess I just assumed Hutchinson was the only place to go nearby. So I could use some recomendations I guess...
So far
*Skydive Twin Cities is in Baldwin, WI
*Skydive Hutchinson, MN

More importantly, don't forget you're going to be that much closer to Sunshine:)

I know where St. Cloud is!!! I lived in the very small town of Zimmerman, ever hear of it? Most of my relatives still live in the twin cities area.

The best part about jumping in Minnesota in the summer is the sunsets around 9:00-9:30. We often had to call the liquor store to see if they would stay open just a little bit longer so we could make that sunset load.

My brother lives in a suburb of Minneapolis. The summer can be surprisingly hot. It is a pretty state with all the lakes, but I don't think it can compare at all with NoCal.

Would you consider doing a base jump from the top level of the Mall of America?B|

Three dropzones near Minneapolis. St. Cloud isn't that far from Baldwin.

Hutch - More freeflyers, smoking in the hanger, King Air is fast but the door is small. Very nice people.

Baldwin - All types of jumpers, can be clicky, better plane (Otter). Best relative workers in the area. Fast fallers. Good family and single types. Camping friendly.

Owatonna - South of the cities. Club operation. Super friendly. Cessnas.

I'm a fanatical anti-smoker so I just don't go to Hutch even though I like the people and the plane. I'm a member at Owatonna, and spend 90% of my jumps at Baldwin.

Any drive is worth it depending on what you do more of (don't worry about distance, it's not a real factor for any of the 3 from St. Cloud). If you freefly and don't mind the smoke, Hutch is for you. If you want to do RW, or both RW and freefly, the Baldwin is the right place.

Have fun.

Oh, check the websites. I know Baldwin is having a Boogie. It's a good one. Maybe Hutch will too.....

Awwww, Minnesota, yeah, ya know, ya betcha...

My Dad's side of the family is from there, my great great grandfather moved there from good 'ol Norweig...the farm is still in the family (my dad's actually), in Wannamingo. My dad even went to St. Olaf's College.

Damn, I'm glad I grew up in Texas.B|

Of course i know about the gf, i'm really stalking her. I'm just pretending to stalk Seb to get to his woman. :D

Hrm, i guess i'm not going to raeford anymore for July 4th, i must be in MN instead....

No problems Nick. I'm camping at the DZ the entire week with a lot of team training hopefully.

We'll make sure you get going and find people to jump with.

If you have the full week, you might just want to visit as many of the DZs as you can.

That's what I do when I travel.
