Altimaster N3 battery life

Recommended Posts

Anyone out there that can speak to the average life span of the N3 battery? I read in a review that the battery can only be replaced by the manufacturer and i have not been able to find further details on the cost, time, etc. Is this true or can the battery actually be replaced by the user? After doing plenty of research I was sure to have decided for the N3 in favor of the Optima II but this battery thing I read online has put my purchase on hold until I get some feedback from real world users. Thanks in advance.

I've charged mine maybe 3-4 times over the past 250ish jumps (roughly 6 months). Only once did it get low enough to worry me about making a jump with it.

The N3 has a rechargable battery. My N3 holds a charge for a really long time. I don't knopw how a user would replace the battery... there are no screws or other obvious ways into the guts of the N3. If you like the features of the N3, don't let the battery be an obstacle to buying it.
The choices we make have consequences, for us & for others!

The average lifespan of the N3 battery should be 500 charges or 10 years (based on charging it once a week if needed). You should only charge the battery when it’s near empty; doing so will help ensure the longevity of the battery’s life.

If you are hardcore jumper or work in the industry daily, you will likely need to charge it once a week. I only need to charge mine about once every 3-4 weeks since I only jump on the weekends :(

If for any reason the battery is not performing as it should and you’re the original owner, the units have a ten year warranty that covers the battery.
