TB99 0 #26 June 23, 2003 So if I'm having trouble sleeping too, and vanilla is the absolute most favorite scent and flavor of mine in the whole world (oh God how much I love it!), does that make me a vanillian as well? hehehe Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!
Swoopyswoop 0 #27 June 23, 2003 Quote It seems my body is trying to sleep, yet my brain won't let me. Its been almost a week now since I had a restful nights sleep. Anyone have any good recipes/concoctions/exersizes/meditations (anything) to help with sleeping more soundly? I swallowed some sleeping pills once by accident, I went to my doctor and he told me to have a few drinks and get some rest "when I die, I want to go like my grandfather while im sleeping, not like the passengers riding in the car with me Swoopster A.S.S. #6 Future T.S.S holder
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #28 June 23, 2003 Sure, you can be an honorary member. Yes, a "Vanillian" is actually a good title for you.

Amazon 7 #30 June 23, 2003 Melatonin rocks.. I work the night shift and have used it for a couple years when I was stressed and need to sleep Amazon
SpeedRacer 1 #31 June 23, 2003 One thing that also helps: if the local pub has "Guiness Night" and you can get a pint of Guinness for only 2$. For some reason, I always sleep well on those nights. BlueEyedMonster 0 #33 June 23, 2003 Hey I've had this happen a couple of times. My sleep schedule just started slipping. Every night I finally got to sleep later than the night before. But, I kept getting up at the same time. Pretty soon I was getting 2 hours of sleep a night, and the sleep deprivation was getting pretty serious. I went to the doc, and he gave me some prescription sleeping pills. I swear they were elephant tranquilizers or something. But, after taking them at the same time every night for 5 nights in a row, I was fixed.

12bhi 0 #35 June 23, 2003 I work a 12 hour swing and use to have a severe insomnia problem, until I discovered melatonin... Sounds like I'm advertisin a comercial but it really does work wonders, and its relatively safe..
skymut 0 #36 June 23, 2003 I'm definitely a fan of trying all things 'natural' to get you to la-la land. But, if nothing else works....my wife was having trouble sleeping well a few months ago. She talked with her dr about it, and dr gave her some zoloft. Zoloft is usually used to treat depression, but as is the case with most medications, they have found that it helps with other things as well, and in this case, sleeping troubles. My wife swears by it...no noticeable side affects, it didn't make her stupid happy, didn't make her drowsy, just helped her to sleep better. Hope you get some rest soon. LadySkyDIve 0 #37 June 23, 2003 I have several meditation tapes and find that listening to one of them helps me relax so that I can sleep better (using headphones while laying in bed). Good luck! I too have suffered from insomnia for weeks on end and it seriously sucks. Fortunately I do eventually sleep!
hooked 0 #38 June 23, 2003 I always try to read before going to sleep. I have tried melatonin, but I heard that if you take it on a regular basis, your body will stop producing it naturally, just a word of caution there.
