b1jercat 0 #26 June 18, 2003 HI, If you've seen the movie The Hunt For Red October, you may have already seen the subermarine USS Blue Back, It was the sub that broke the surface of the water in the movie. If you make it into down town, powells bookstore is on burnside st between 10th and 11th street, across burnside st to the south is an area of portland known as the pink triangle, if your running low on whips, chains, leather undies or dog collars this is the place to find them. For my money I'd head up burnside st (west) to NW 23rd st and take to the side walks. Good luck I hope you enjoy your visit. blue skies jerry
