And I thought this thread was about the new Metallica album, which in my opinion is about as lame as the past 3 they have released. There are a couple good tunes, but it's just not what I like in Metallica.

Any other opinions ??

Hey whadda bout me and my axe. This one will make TheRus weep if he is a Cliff fan. I bought it because I was really into Geddy Lee and Chris Squire.

Yeh, I think you had a post your "baby" thread awhile back with your acoustics. That's why I had a web friendly jpeg of the Rick handy...

You suck in thousands of ways that I can't even name for taunting me with that Ric!! >:(

Dude, in all honesty, that is a really sweet axe.;)

One day I will own one. For now I'll keep my "custom" job I own:

Yamaha RBX260 with:
EMG P/J pickups
EMG onboard active EQ system
Leo Quan BADASS II high-mass bridge
Hipshot D-Tuner
Equiped with DR Lo-Rider Stainless Steel Heavy Gauge (110-50) Strings

Quite possibly one of the loudest basses on the planet. ;)

Yeah, it's fine, we'll walk down the line. Leave our rain, a cold trade for warm sunshine
You my friend, I will defend... and if we change, well, I love you anyway

NAH!! The great thing about playing bass is that you can hit a wrong note anytime just so long as you hit it like you MEAN IT!! If you do it right, it sounds like the rest of the band screwed up instead of you. :D

Besides, my motto has always been (for music anyway): I'll trade a little accuracy for a lot of attitude anytime!

I just bought a Stingray last year with a Piezo bridge and I put a hipshot on it. My main bass from the metal days was a bastard though. It was an ESP precision body, with a Warmoth telecaster neck, Schaller hardware and semour duncan "quarter pounder" j pickups. It was nice chunk of wood that you could play your ass off on for a few hours then go win a gang fight with it.B| Unfortunately, this terribly disfigured, but well loved bass, was stolen from me years ago. Just when I got it sounding right.
