PhreeZone 20 #1 February 15, 2012 Does anyone know the thickness of the MDS that is in use for UPT and Sunpath tuck tab stiffeners?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
PhreeZone 20 #3 February 15, 2012 Thanks Jeff! Now I get to replace some tucktabs that are broken!Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
mark 107 #4 February 15, 2012 Quote.040" .040" for UPT. It would be worth a call to Sunpath. The last MDS I got from them for their tucktabs was .030", but it might vary by model. Mark
riggerrob 643 #5 February 15, 2012 Rigging Innovations used to use .020" MDS for tuck-tabs. R.I. used some .040" MDS where main side flaps suffer the worst stresses, around grommets.
PhreeZone 20 #6 February 15, 2012 I was hoping to go local for a supply of it to repair 3-4 Vectors and 1 Javelin and all they have is .031 and .060. They also only sell it in 24*48 inch sheets so its overkill for my needs.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
ChrisClark 0 #7 February 15, 2012 UPT use .020, .040, .062 MDS and .060 poly. Sunpath use .030 MDS and .060 poly. I recently bought small amounts from both companies. Can also depend on the model (year) of Javelin as they have made small changes many times over the years, especially on the riser covers.
piisfish 140 #8 February 16, 2012 I got from Sunpath replacement parts, already cut & pierced, for main tray flaps, so I could replace the broken one which had already been replaced by substandard PVC in a Javelin, for 5$. As I didn't know what was the original material, I sent them an email and got a very quick reply. From UPT I got a 5*10 inch sheet of their nylatron for a riser cover flap, wasn't cut to shape, but it was free scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
